Calibre 8700 collection made by Tokio-based watch manufacturer, Citizen, includes reasonably priced and multi-functional quartz timepieces that combine useful features and attractive design. Wristwatches from the series are constructed of stainless steel and fitted in moderately sized 39 mm or 42 mm wide cases. One of the advantages of the lineage is the fact that it possesses Eco-Drive technology which insures accurate functioning with a rechargeable solar battery that can be supplied with energy not only by sunlight, but also by artificial illumination. A fully charged watch functions up to 180 days, while the low battery indication activates three days before the battery runs out.
Wristwatches from the Calibre 8700 collection are constructed with E870 quartz module that has a few other functions apart from the basic timekeeping feature. They are supplied with perpetual calendars with retrograde displays for days of the week. These watches also include dual time functions that enable their wearers to keep track of time in two time zones. There is also a sub-dial that displays the current time in a 24-hour format. Besides, these analog timepieces include alarms and water resistance to 100 m. The faces of the watches from the series are guarded with glare-proof mineral glasses.
There are nine watches in the collection. Available dial colors are white, brown, blue and black. The cheapest models with leather straps are worth $375, while the most expensive steel models with 36 diamonds on their bezels cost $725.
