Maverick Chronograph by Victorinox is the most interesting piece in the brand’s newly introduced Maverick collection. It is not radically different from the pieces that Swiss manufacturer already offers, so it can be mostly viewed as a timepiece with old features and a new design. The watch is equipped with ETA 251.277 chronograph quartz movement and includes a date display. So far, there are three existing versions of the watch. The crucial trait in the regard of its price is the type of the included attachment. While with a steel bracelet, it retails for $675, the retails price of the ones with rubber strap is $50 less.
Swiss-made ETA 251.277 22-jeweled quart movement utilized for the construction of Maverick chronograph is not thermo-compensated. It therefore has the accuracy of within +/- 10-15 seconds within a month. On the other hand, its chronograph feature is able to convey time to the precision of 1/10th of a second, as it is indicated in one of three included counters (there are also sub-dials for chrono 30-minutes and small seconds). Among other not so numerous additional features of the piece there are a tachymeter scale and a date display which is placed all the way on the bottom of the dial, which is pretty unusual for this module.
Victorinox Maverick Chronograph is fitted inside a 316L stainless steel housing of a round shape. It features the diameter of 43 mm and the height of 12 mm. The face of the watch is protected with a fine triple-coated glare proof and scratch resistant sapphire crystal. This sapphire glass is surrounded with a unidirectional rotating bezel with polished finish. In combination with a screw-in case back, a protected crown and diver extension for its attachment (for the version with a steel bracelet), these make the watch suitable for some light diving, though this is not strictly a diving timepiece since its water resistance measures to 100 meters. It is likewise noteworthy to say that the dial of the watch includes polished applied Arabic numerals and luminous hands.
There are three versions of Victorinox Maverick timekeeper. The first one is with the reference number 241431 which has black-colored dial and bezel, as well as a genuine rubber three-row strap with a buckle in the same color. Almost entirely the same is the next version, the 241432, with the only difference being a three-row stainless steel bracelet which fastens with a double-locking safety deployant clasp. The third variation with the serial number 241433 is the most colorful and it includes a red bezel, a silver dial and a black rubber strap.
