Ulysse Nardin presented the latest member of its Diver Collection. The new Maxi Marine Diver Watch is not actually a new model. It is better to say that it is a renewed and redesigned version of the Ulysse Nardin’s watch from 2009. This novelty features a unique dial design, still keeping the classic style.
Among new features, there is a large rose gold unidirectional bezel with diving scale figures, a bracelet matching to the colors of the case, as well as a round date display with a Cyclops’ eye.
The new Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver is housed in a round, masculine case made of 18-karat rose gold. The case measures 42.7mm, but thanks to its massive golden bezel, it looks as if it is a little bit larger than it actually is. Each case is individually engraved on a side plate in gold.
The Ulysse Nardin’s newcomer with the referent number 266-33-8C/922 is powered with the in-house manufactured caliber UN-26 automatic movement that preserves full 42 hours of power reserve. The self-winding mechanism is compiled on the 28 jewels and provides the following functions: hours, minutes, small seconds, date and chronometer with power-reserve functionality. Through the transparent case back of the watch, you can take a glimpse into the fascinating workings of the movement whose rotor is crafted from 22-karat rose gold.
Maxi Marine Diver features the new wave-patterned black dial with applied luminous markers. The hour and minute hands are partly skeletonized and filled with the same luminous substance. Besides white lume which stands perfectly against the black dial surface, there are also gold and red accents that highlight the important details, such as date imprint 1846 that reveals the Ulysse Nardin’s founding year.
A power reserve indicator is situated at the 12 o’clock position, while a small seconds counter is placed on the opposite side, at the 6 o’clock position. The right date is also available at the 6 o’clock position.
The watch is protected on both sides with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and provided with a screwed crown. The case is constructed to resist water pressure up to 200 meters (about 660 feet).
The new Maxi Marine Diver is teamed with the 18-karat rose gold bracelet which incorporates black ceramic elements and thus matches the color of the case. The bracelet ends with a folding clasp which keeps the watch secured to the wearer’s wrist.
