The most important yachting competition, the America’s Cup, celebrates its 35th birthday this year. The Swiss luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin as the official partner of Sweden’s Artemis Racing team which competes in this challenging race joins the festivities by launching an exceptional limited edition of its famous Marine Diver timepiece.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Artemis Racing is dressed in Artemis Racing signature colors – striking yellow and blue. This exclusive timepiece is crafted from durable stainless steel and rubber, and boasts an exceptional level of water resistance up to 300 meters (1,000 feet), which is made possible thanks to the screw-down security crown and case-back.
The stainless steel case measures 44mm in diameter and features a unidirectional rotating bezel with the famous wave pattern. Underneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass lies a deep-ocean blue dial mixed with tasteful bursts of Artemis Racing yellow. Its beautiful dial features a sailing boat tapisserie motif whilst the hour markers and hands are filled with white luminescent material with a dash of yellow. The striking yellow is also used for the Artemis logo which is located at the 12 o’clock position, as well as for the small seconds hand. There is also the inscription “Artemis Racing, Challenger 35th America’s Cup” in the small seconds sub-dial which reminds everyone that this is a commemorative piece.
The reverse side of the watch also reveals the commemorative inscription together with Artemis Racing’s logo and a depiction of the boat. The Artemis Racing logo and yellow stripes also appear on the blue rubber strap fitted with a deployant clasp that will keep the watch secured to its future owner’s wrist.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Artemis Racing is equipped with the UN-26 automatic caliber which powers up functions for power reserve indicator, small seconds, hours and minutes. The self-winding movement promises up to 24 hours of power reserve.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Diving Artemis Racing (ref. 263-10LE-3/93-ARTEMIS) is produced in the limited quantity of 250 pieces and is available through Ulysse Nardin’s worldwide retail network.
The watch that is designed to mark Ulysse Nardin’s partnership with Artemis Racing team is a real eye-catcher. Like Patrik Hoffman, the CEO of Ulysse Nardin said “Ulysse Nardin’s history of navigating the sea, paired with the DNA of innovation and technology, which is firmly established in both companies, makes this partnership a perfect match”.
The America’s Cup is without a doubt the most difficult trophy in sport to win. Since its beginning, only four countries have won this trophy – the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland. Artemis Racing team is striving to be the Cup’s new steward, bringing it to Europe and Sweden for the first time.
