At the upcoming Baselworld 2015, (19-26 March) Ulysse Nardin will officially present a fabulously elegant white colored ladies’ timepiece.
The new Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture Ladies is equipped with the high-quality in-house manufactured movement UN 118 caliber. The groundbreaking mechanism boasts an in-house-produced and patented cutting-edge DIAMonSIL escapement and a silicon balance spring.
DIAMonSIL escapement, which is crafted from silicone and synthetic diamond, debuted in Caliber 118 three years ago at the Baselworld 2012. This escapement eliminates the friction between the parts of the movement, and eliminates the need for lubrication of the escapement. The self-winding movement is built on 50 jewels and provides no less than 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The UN 118 caliber is COSC certified and has a beating rate of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz). As it is reported from the manufacturer, this novelty features all the hallmarks of the finest marine instruments.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture Ladies is housed in a round stainless stell case which measures 43mm in diameter. Its stunning case is shielded with AR-coated sapphire crystals and incorporates a fluted bezel featuring 120 sparkling diamonds weighing 1.3 carats. They are skillfully arranged around the curved bezel. The case also features a screw-down security crown covered with rubber. It is constructed to provide water resistance of up to 330 feet (about 100 meters).
Underneath the front sapphire glass lies a fine mother-of-pearl dial with either blue or rose indexes, depending on a model (their referent numbers are 1183-126B/430 and 1183-126B/470). A power reserve indicator is situated at the 12 o’clock position, while the opposite side is reserved for a small seconds counter. A round date window is also placed at the 6 o’clock position.
The sapphire case back of the watch reveals the secrets of a beautiful watchmaking tradition of UIlysse Nardin.
The new Marine Chronometer Manufacture Ladies comes with an elegant leather strap stitched in pastel, ending with a deployant clasp in steel.
