The latest member of the Ulysse Nardin’s Black Sea Collection is encrusted with blue details and brings a modern look, still retaining the characteristic features of the range. The Black Sea family is famous for its durable and sporty timepiece with amazing water resistance and the latest Ulysse Nardin’s novelty proves this.
The new Black Sea Watch is housed in a stainless steel case coated with vulcanized rubber that provides comfort and flexibility. Besides, the vulcanization process enhances its ability to withstand the most demanding situations.
Its masculine case is protected on both sides with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and it is constructed to resist water pressure to amazing 200 meters (approximately 660 feet). The case measures 45.8mm in diameter and is topped with an unidirectional rotating bezel engraved with minute markings, which helps divers to stay safe.
Crafted to Endure the Most Extreme Conditions
The all black dial surface with a wave-pattern decoration is graced with blue highlights which are coated with luminous material. The 42-hour power-reserve display is situated in the upper part of the dial, whilst the small seconds counter and the large date display are located in the lower part of the dial, at the 6 o’clock position.
The luminescent material is applied on hands and hour markers, thus providing perfect visibility in deep underwater darkness. Ulysse Nardin Black Sea for 2013 (the referent number is 263-92-3C/923) boasts classy style and its design can attract anyone no matter if a person is a diver or not.
The watch is powered with the time-proven Caliber UN-26 automatic movement. The self-winding mechanism is built on 28 jewels and provides the usual functions of hours, minutes, seconds, as well as date and power reserve functionality.
The new Black Sea is secured to the wearer’s wrist with a black wavy-patterned rubber strap featuring two black ceramic elements and a folding clasp.
Although the latest Ulysse Nardin’s timepiece is a representation of great design, I must say that it is less legible, in comparison to the previous Black Sea model with yellow highlights. However, this maritime inspired timepiece is excellent and it can be a solid addition to any diver’s watch line.
