The latest special edition timepiece from the watchmaking house of Ulysse Nardin is a stunning Diver Chronograph Monaco Watch that honors the partnership between the Swiss manufacturer and the Monaco Yacht Show. Ulysse Nardin has been the official sponsor of the prestigious yachting event for the last eight years.
Just like all Ulysse Nardin Monaco limited edition pieces, the new Diver Chronograph Monaco is dressed in red and blue color scheme. The watch honors the Monaco Yacht Show by featuring a minute sub-dial decorated with the coat of arms of the Principality of Monaco. The same heraldic motif of the Principality of Monaco is also present from the rear on the sapphire crystal case back. Conversely the minute counter, there is a small seconds sub-dial, while a 12-hour chronograph counter is placed at the 6 o’clock position. The bottom of the dial also features a round date window. Furthermore, Monaco Yacht Show 2016 is written on the blue dial, whilst the indices and hands show the colors of the Monaco flag, with white paint and a red line.
The new Diver Chronograph Monaco Watch is housed in a large, sporty stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter. The robust case incorporates a unidirectional diving bezel, which offers the simplest way to keep track of diving time, while at the same time prevents any accidental changes. As you can see on these images, the outer edge of the bezel is fluted and goes perfectly with the wave pattern stamped on its rubber inlay. The case construction provides an amazing water resistance up to 300 meters (approximately 1,000 feet).
The beating heart of this special edition diver’s watch is the in-house designed and manufactured caliber UN-150 which is tooled with a silicium escapement. The high-precision self-winding chronograph movement is capable to store enough energy to keep the watch working for no less than 48 hours when fully wound.
The newest Ulysse Nardin professional diver’s timepiece (ref. 1503-151-7M/93-MON) is issued in the limited quantity of only 100 specimens.
The 2016 Monaco Yacht Show was held from 28 September to 1 October. The prestigious event gathered hundreds of exhibiting companies, some of the world’s biggest brokerages, as well as approximately 30,000 visitors. During the four days of the show, the visitors had the opportunity to enjoy, explore and discover the leading innovations and influential designs in the yachting industry.
