Tissot is recognized worldwide for creating quality timepieces. According to this fact, the Swiss manufacturer brought another piece that drips with quality – the Couturier Chronograph watch.

Some watches from this line are powered by Swiss made automatic mechanical chronograph movements (an Valjoux 7750 or ETA C01.211), while the other versions are equipped with Swiss ETA quartz chronograph movements (an ETA G10.961 or ETA G10.211). Whichever movement has been incorporated, it provides the full complement of hours, minutes and seconds, as well as date and chronograph functions.

Tissot Couturier wristwatch boasts a round case made of high-quality 316L stainless steel, with a polished and brushed bezel. Depending on a model, the case measures 41 mm or 43 mm in diameter. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects its dial, so you can be sure to clearly see the time for a very long period (I can say without doubt – for a lifetime). There is also a tachymeter scale, set on the dial periphery. The round scale features Arabic numerals and it also helps round out the dial design. The water-resistance of this Tissot men’s watch is assured to 100 meters (330 feet).

This collection is available in a variety of models to suit every taste. There is a choice among models with black or brown leather straps, or with stainless steel bracelets.
There is also a distinction on the dials between automatic mechanical models and quartz versions. Automatic watches sport three sub-dials for measuring 6 or 12 hours, 30 minutes and 60 seconds and they are symmetrically set at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, while day and date (or just date) windows complete the design of their dials at the 3 o’clock position. The dials of quartz models feature three counters, nicely set at 2, 6 and 10 o’clock positions. Depending on a movement type, these sub-dials measure 1/10th-second, 60 seconds and 30 minutes, or 12 hours, 60 seconds and 24 hours GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). There is also a date window, situated at the 4 o’clock position.

I will always choose the watch with an automatic movement, either Valjoux or ETA, for example the model T0356141105100 with a stainless steel bracelet or the model T0356271605101 with a black genuine leather strap. The first one is priced $1,595, while the model with the strap can be purchased for $925. If these watches are too expensive for you, Tissot also offers some cheaper quartz versions. There are two interesting models attached to stainless steel bracelets and there is a choice between white and black color of their dials (their referent numbers are T0356171103100 and T0356171105100). These two models are priced $575 each. The cheapest quartz models are those with black or brown leather straps. For each of them, you have to pay about $525.
The dial of this watch is very nice and well designed. It has an excellent combination of colors inside the dial. I have never seen a watch with such a peaceful design and great performances.
If you save your money and buy this watch, you`ll get a perfect watch with a lot of good functions, a reliable mechanism and a good look.
The thing that impressed me on this watch is this unusual and sophisticated black leather strap.

Does anyone know if this is alligator leather or leather of some other animal?
Dale, I think that this models has two or three types of leather. The model T035.627.16.051.00 has an alligator strap in my opinion.
