V8 Chronograph Watch is one of the most popular men’s wristwatches from Tissot. The leader position was probably achieved thanks to the newest Swiss technology combined with excellent design and quite affordability.

This boldly-designed chronograph from the T-Sport Collection is crafted from the top-grade stainless steel. Its round case has 42.5 mm in diameter and it is only 10.5 mm thick. The fully polished masculine case carries a striking bezel with a tachymeter scale, inscribed by Arabic numerals. The case construction incorporates a screw down crown and two chronograph push buttons. Also, it is shielded with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and allows 100 meters (330 feet) of water resistance.
This sporty timepiece is powered by a highly accurate Swiss made ETA G10.211 quartz movement (battery life is insured to 38 months).
Depending on a model, V8 chronograph watch is secured to the wrist with a black or brown leather strap for more comfortable feeling of the wearer, or with a polished stainless steel bracelet which has a deployment buckle for added safety. A decidedly sporty temperament of this watch is best visible on its dial which comprises hour and minute hands, filled with luminous materials, a thin second hand, enlarged Arabic numerals 4, 8 and 12, as well as three chronograph sub-dials and a date calendar. The 1/10th-second chrono sub-dial is positioned at the 2 o’clock, while the 30-minute counter is located at the balancing 10 o’clock position. A little bit larger third sub-dial is set at the 6 o’clock position. It is the standard 60 seconds counter. There is also a date window, displayed at the 3 o’clock position.
The Swiss manufacturer offers five different models from this line. The cheapest one is the model T36131672 which sports an ivory colored dial and a brown genuine leather strap. This retro-looking watch can be purchased for only $375. As you can see, a date window on this watch is set at the 6 o’clock position, and it has Arabic numerals 3, 6 and 12 (these are the only distinctions among this model and the others).

There are also two versions which are attached to black leather straps. The first model with the referent number T0394171603700 sports a grey bezel and a silver dial, while the second one, T0394171605700, matches a black colored bezel and dial. The monotony of one color is broken with red accents on its dial. Each of these two models is priced $450.

For those who prefer the versions with bracelets, Tissot offers two models. The first one is spectacularly styled. It features a vibrant blue dial and bezel, and it is attached to a three-raw steel bracelet. The referent number of this model is T0394171104700. Another model T0394171105700 is the black version (dial and bezel), accompanied with a polished bracelet. These two versions are the most expensive ones from this line. Each of them can be purchased for $495.

Comparing two types of models, the one with a steel bracelet and the one with a leather strap, I saw an interesting thing. A beautiful dial design of the models with leather straps has a better visual effect, while the models with steel bracelets don`t have that effect.
To be honest, this will be the best gift for my old man for his birthday. He has been a good man and father for all these years and he deserves this kind of present. I hope he`ll like it.

I`m joking! Now something serious. This watch is a great thing, it has a very nice design and reliable movement and functions, and the price is not bad, too. Another thing- Andrew, I salute your plan to make happy your dad who gave you the support in your entire life, I guess. That`s a lovely act.
