In coincide with the start of the MotoGP 2012 season, Tissot launched a brand new timepiece dedicated to its talented ambassador, Thomas Lüthi. This year’s novelty will be delivered in striking boxes designed to resemble the race helmets of the young Swiss rider.
The Tissot T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2012 inspired by the motorbike race series is being launched to mark the beginning of a new exciting season. Like previous models (for example, Tissot T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2011), the new watch is extremely useful timekeeping instrument in racing, as well as for racers since it manages to display amazing functions in the most accurate and precise manner.
This newcomer (the referent number is T048.417.27.037.01) from the T-Sport collection proudly portrays the colors of Lüthi’s team Interwetten – black, silver and yellow.
The Striking Wristwatch with Explosive Energy
The new timepiece evokes some motorcycle characteristics and qualities, from its movement’s precision to its design with numerous details, such as a brake-disc bezel, the dial which illustrates elaborate counters and speedometers and its two-tone ultra-resistant silicone bracelet that has a sleek black base and a swift aerodynamic silvery-white T-shaped stripe racing round the strap like the athlete on the track. Its bicolor strap is secured with a folding clasp and push-buttons.
This year’s Thomas Lüthi’s timepiece boasts his race number 12 which is engraved on the case back. Considering the fact that it is produced in a series of only 999 specimens, the race is on for Lüthi’s fans to get their hands one of these timepieces.
This Tissot is housed in a round masculine case crafted from top-quality stainless steel. It measures 45.3 x 50.26 mm and it is 12.67 mm thick. The case features a black anticlockwise rotating bezel with a GMT function and a guarded crown coated with black PVD.
Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with magnifying lens for date protects its dial from almost all external influences. Also, it provides more than sufficient water-resistance up to 100 meters (330 feet) beneath water surface.
Underneath the front sapphire glass, there is a silver dial with black Arabic numerals as hour markers. The dial comprises three sub-dials and a small date window situated at the 3 o’clock position.
Two chronograph counters for measuring 1/10th of a second and 30 minutes are set symmetrically at 2 and 10 o’clock positions, whereas a little bit smaller 60 seconds counter is located at the 6 o’clock position. A striking yellow tachymeter scale set on the outer rim of the dial nicely rounds it.
The hour and minute hands are coated with luminous material, while two chronograph sub-dial hands and a central second hand come in eye-catching yellow color.
The T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2012 timepiece is driven by the Swiss-made ETA G10.211 quartz chronograph movement. This collector’s piece comes protected in an eye-catching helmet case.
