It is a great pleasure for me to announce that the Swiss watchmaker, Tissot, is launching a brand new timepiece dedicated to its talented ambassador, Ms. Danica Sue Patrick. The new ladies’ wristwatch brings together both extreme sporty personality and perfect elegancy.
This newcomer follows the same color scheme as the previous model – Tissot PRC 200 Danica Patrick Limited Edition 2011 that was dedicated to the only woman that won the famous IndyCar Series.
This fabulous wristwatch is housed in a rather large stainless steel case with the diameter of almost 37 mm or to be exact 36.65 mm. Its gorgeous, round case incorporates a fixed bezel crafted from the finest white ceramic. On the right side of the case, there is a crown with side protection (I must say a rather unusual crown guard) and two chronograph push-buttons. It is coated with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and provides water resistance up to 100 meters (330 feet).
The New Danica Patrick’s Watch Created with Ladies in Mind
The new T-Race Danica Patrick is powered by the Swiss made quartz movement that provides the usual set of functions (hour, minute, seconds and date) with additional chronograph functionality.
One of the most attractive details on the new Tissot’s timepiece is an oversized magnifying lens which is situated at the 3 o’clock position, exactly over the date window.
The unique character of the watch is revealed especially on its dial. The matte white dial surface comprises 12 small diamonds set as hour markers, as well as three sub-dials which display precise indications like a racing car’s instrument panel. Two chronograph counters for measuring 1/10 of a second and 30 minutes are located traditionally at 2 and 10 o’clock positions. The third counter, placed at the 6 o’clock position, is reserved for a small seconds display.
The central chronograph seconds hand is equipped with a T-shaped counterweight which is painted in the same bright orange color as two other chronograph sub-dial pointers. The same color has been used for the inscription “Tachymetre” on the bezel flange. The hour and minute hands offer the highest level of legibility thanks to the luminous material which was applied on them.
Tissot T-Race Danica Patrick Limited Edition 2012 Watch comes with a white silicon strap with a steel folding clasp and pushers. The tread mark pattern on the silicon band hints at the well-known IndyCar driver’s performance on the racetrack, whereas the chrono hands and the word “Tachymetre” are in Danica Patrick’s team’s signature orange. This year’s model is also produced in the limited quantity of 4,999 specimens.
In 2012, Tissot has unveiled its two more limited edition timepieces from the T-Race series: T-Race Nicky Hayden Limited Edition 2012 and T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2012 watch. The Swiss-based watchmaker has also launched its two official MotoGP limited edition watches, comprising of two T-Race MotoGP Limited Edition 2012 pieces (available in automatic and quartz versions).
