The Le Locle-based watchmaker goes back in its 1960s motorsport-inspired origins with the new PRS 516 model. The future owners of this interesting piece will be armed with the timekeeping companion which unites the innovations in Swiss watchmaking with nostalgic design elements from the racetrack.
Tissot PRS 516 Automatic Small Second Watch (ref. T1004281605100) comes in a sporty stainless steel case featuring ceramic bezel. The case measures 42mm in diameter, 13.93mm in thickness and it is shielded with a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The new Tissot’s watch is protected from immersion in water to the depths of 300 meters (approximately 1,000 feet).
The first thing that grabs attention is the originally designed black carbon dial face with a small seconds counter dived in three parts which are scattered over the dial surface. The indexes and hour and minute hands are coated with luminous substance in order to provide perfect legibility of the time, regardless of lighting conditions. There is also a date window which is situated at the 4 o’clock position.
The beating heart of the PRS 516 Automatic Small Second Watch is the Swiss made caliber ETA 2825 automatic movement which is capable to provide approximately 38 hours of autonomy when fully wound. The reverse side of the watch allows the movement to be seen in action via the distinctive see-through case back shaped like the steering wheel of a pioneering sports car, which is yet another nice motorsport-inspired detail.
The last, but definitely not the least, the watch comes with a comfortable black leather strap featuring intriguing cut-out design. The watch is kept secured to the wrist with a steel butterfly clasp with push-buttons.
Tissot PRS 516 Automatic Small Second Watch can be purchased at the Tissot web shop for the retail price of $1,050. This newcomer, just like all Tissot watches, comes with 2 year warranty from the date of purchase. The attractive timepiece might be the perfect choice for those of you who feel nostalgia for the past times.
