This year, the Swiss watchmaker, Tissot, launched a limited edition watch in honor of a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and alternate captain for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League, Steven Christopher Stamkos.

Like the explosive and goal-scoring Tissot ambassador, this wristwatch exudes with utmost precision, robustness and sportiness.

The sporty timepiece is housed in a round case crafted from stainless steel. Its mid-sized case measures 41mm in diameter and 12mm in thickness. The masculine case comes with a fixed stainless steel bezel inscribed with black Arabic numerals to mark time in 10 minutes step. On the right side of the case there is a prominent steel crown and two chronograph push pieces.

The dial of the watch is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. Its dial features colors from the hockey’s arena with a blue and silver color scheme which illustrates the ice’s reflections, while the striking red central second hand perfectly contrasts with a silver dial surface.

The sporty looking dial comprises three sub-dials, Arabic numerals 3, 9 and 12, as well as a date window which is situated at the 4 o’clock position. The 1/10-second chrono counter is located at the 2 o’clock position, while the 30-minute chrono sub-dial is situated on the opposite side, at the 10 o’clock position. A small seconds counter is displayed at the 6 o’clock position. Steven Stamkos’ team color – cool blue is presented on the dial periphery where a 60 minutes scale nicely rounds the dial surface.

Tissot PRS 200 Steven Stamkos 2012 is powered by the Swiss-made G10.211 quartz movement and it comes with an elegant two-toned stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp.

The case back of the watch boasts the young player’s lucky number 91, alongside with the limited edition serial number.

The new Tissot is produced in a limited quantity of only 910 pieces. If you cannot get one of these watches, you might consider buying Tissot PRS 200 Ice Hockey 2012, which is the same watch, but with different engravings on its case back. Instead Steven Stamkos’ lucky number, there is a logo of International Ice Hockey Federation.
