As we might expect, Tissot once again released a new watch from the Nicky Hayden MotoGP series. Since 2006, Swiss manufacturer launched every year a new Nicky’s watch edition. This year we got Tissot 2011 Limited Edition Nicky Hayden MotoGP Watch produced in only 4,999 specimens.
Nicky Hayden is a rider of the Ducati team and he has been Tissot brand ambassador since November 2005. This American professional motorcycle racer won the MotoGP World Championship in 2006. He is also known as The Kentucky Kid and in his career he won 3 races, earned 5 MotoGP pole positions and achieved the fastest lap in a MotoGP race 6 times.
New Nicky’s watch comes in Ducati MotoGP Team colors – red, black and white, and it is decorated with the famous number of his bike – 69 on the red caseback.
This chronograph model from T-Race line is powered by highly accurate and precise Swiss-made G10.211 quartz movement and it is protected by a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It also has decent water resistant to 100 meters.
The eye-catching stainless steel case measures 45,3 mm diameter with thickness of 12,67 mm. A round masculine case comes with a red sporty rubber strap, which is made of high-grade, ultra-resistant silicone. This new men’s Tissot has a rotating GMT bezel and crown guard.
A stylish black dial also includes three red chronograph sub-dials for tracking hours, minutes, and 1/10th of a second, and a date window at 3 o’clock position. The hour markers are white stars which is another Nicky’s signature emblem.
It is worth to mention that the stopwatch uses the large hand, which looks like the second hand. T048.417.27.051.02 comes in a specially designed motorcycle helmet presentation box and a price of about 480 £ is a quite accessible if you want to buy a piece of racing history.
Tissot is very dedicated to Moto sport and it has been the Official Timekeeper of the MotoGP since 2001. Swish watchmaker offer a Pole Position Award to the rider who finishes fastest in their respective qualifying session for the MotoGP, Moto2 and the 125cc categories.
