Another novelty from the Tissot watches presented on Baselworld 2011 is a new Tissot Sculpture Line Skeleton Classic Hand Mixing Hollow Watch. This timepiece is made for those men who really like to look beyond the surface.
Distinguished by confidently contemporary shapes and finishes, it also braces with nostalgic touches, such as classic Roman numerals, hour-markers and a nicely stitched leather strap, ending at an elegant butterfly clasp, equipped with push-buttons.
Visibly Shaped by a Watchmaking Heritage
The new men’s timepiece from T-Gold collection comes with an 18-carat rose or yellow gold case, with a fixed bezel. This watch has smooth polished surfaces. The round case with 42.5 millimeters in diameter and thickness of 11.57 millimeters is acceptable for an average size of a wrist.
The Swiss-made Caliber 6497 skeleton mechanical movement is visible through two substantial cutouts on the dial, at the 12 o’clock and the 6 o’clock positions, and it can also be admired through a transparent case-back. A complex maze of metal elements joins forces to assure high precision. It is made especially for those who appreciate the beauty of rhythm. This movement is similar to the 6498 manual mechanical movement which has been incorporated in Tissot Sculpture Line Moonphase watch.
Embellished with 17 jewels, the hand-winding movement provides a 49-hour power reserve.
A black or a silver dial represents a modern design, while a brown leather strap, with a classy looking crocodile-print gives nostalgic character of the watch. The black dial which comes with model T71.8.471.53 is unmistakably fashionable, while a silver-colored variant T71.3.471.33 carries a tinge of nostalgia. The face of the new Tissot is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The water-resistance of the case is assured to 30 meters.
Sculpture Line Skeleton watch is a blend of traditional and contemporary classic and practical watch. The beauty of this year’s novelty from Baselworld is reflected in both internal and external values (you can also read the reviews of the other Tissot novelties from Basel watch fair: the T-Tempo, the Tissot Tradition (perpetual calendar) and the reviews of some exquisite Ladies watches – the T-Evocation and the T-Race Ladies’ watch).
Except the movement and moon phase indicator there is no reason for me why should I wear this watch….honestly it’s very strange and it looks bad.
I like the dial, it’s very unusual, nice and it has Roman numerals, that’s very cool.
I never had a Tissot watch, but I think this one will be my first but not the last watch from Tissot.
The design of this watch is incredible. I can`t remember seeing something like this in my whole life. I`m really delighted with the look of this remarkable watch. I like watches with skeleton dials, but this is truly a big surprise to me. Guys from Tissot have managed to impress me this time.
I like the white one. It looks better than the black one. Although I`m not the biggest fan of yellow gold, I prefer rose or white gold, I must admit that in this case that combination of white dial and yellow gold case looks very nice.
Let’s take the good sides of this watch – it looks very nice and stylish. And now let`s take the bad sides of this watch – it has water resistance of only 30 meters, it doesn`t have any useful or modern function, its movement is manual instead of automatic or quartz (they are better than the mechanical ones). This watch is simply not good enough for an urban man like me.
