Three years after presented Sistem51, Swatch has decided to offer this model in a 316L stainless steel case. The new Sistem51 Irony comes in several different variants with the names such as, Arrow, Boreal, Earth, Fly, Soul, and Tux.
Considering the fact that this model was available only in a plastic case with a silicone strap, this is a quite big upgrade.
This newcomer, like its predecessor, is equipped with the Swiss made caliber which broke new ground when it debuted in 2013. For the Swiss watchmaker, there is a very important fact that all components are made in Switzerland, with no foreign parts.
This caliber is the world’s first mechanical movement which has an entirely automated (self-winding) assembly. It consists of 51 individual components which have been welded together to form a single assembly centered on a single screw. The impeccable mechanism is backed by 17 patents and for the last three years, it has become well-known for its extraordinary combination of simplicity and affordability. The movement is the same as on the original Sistem51 model, providing a power reserve of amazing 90 hours.
Swatch Sistem51 Irony is attached either to a comfortable leather or rubber strap, or to an elegant stainless steel bracelet. Swatch offers various color combinations for the wristlet. Other watch’s specifications include brushed, or polished cases, multiple dial styles, as well as other subtle upgrades such as Superluminova coating which guarantees excellent legibility no matter how poor the visibility is.
Also important is the price of the new steel version which remains affordable. The new Sistem51 Irony can be purchased for 195 or 230 Euros including 20 % VAT depending on the model (which is approximately $220 or $260).
