Among the Zenith novelties unveiled at this year’s edition of SIHH show in Geneva, the selected visitors of the event were introduced to Captain Winsor Annual Calendar Boutique Edition timekeeper. The watch is the result of the creative vision of Ludwig Oeschlin, the creator of the Musée International d’Horlogerie (MIH) from the Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. Based on his clever solutions and simplified designs, the calendar feature of the watch requires just a single adjustment per year. The idea behind the creation of the timekeeper was to offer a timekeeper with a more affordable calendar complication, since the watches with a perpetual calendar function tend to have a hefty price that makes them out of reach of most people. Supplied with automatic El Primero 4054 caliber as it is customary for the timepieces from the Captain collection, the new special edition watch will be the first in the line with Arabic numerals. This classy timekeeper unveiled at the SIHH 2013 event is made in two versions: the first one that combines a matte white dial with a rose gold, while the other one is in the steel housing and with a graded silver and palladium-colored shades dial. Both versions will be available exclusively in the brand’s boutiques.
As it has been mentioned, the watch runs on a manufacture El Primero caliber, the exceptionally accurate series produced movement which features the frequency of 36,000 vph. The supported calendar complication of the automatic movement has three concentric discs which enable consecutive switching from months with 31 days to 30 day long moths. For this reason, the single annual adjustment of the calendar is necessary at the end of February. As opposed to common calendars which incorporate between 30 and 40 moving components, the Oeschlin’s complication is comprised of just nine parts.

El Primero 4054 Movement
The specific caliber used in the watch is self-winding El Primero 4054 column-wheel chronograph caliber with 29 jewels.
