Ulysse Nardin has decided to exhibit its new models at the Geneva-based SIHH show, instead of at the Baselworld watch fair. Ahead of their first attendance at the show which takes place in January 2017, the Swiss manufacturer introduces a new, striking model dubbed Hourstriker Pin-Up. This charming newcomer will be offered as a limited edition timepiece. It will be produced in only 28 specimens made of either rose gold or platinum.
Ulysse Nardin Hourstriker Pin-Up features a miniature, handcrafted painting on the dial showcasing a seductive burlesque dancer. This beautiful figure gazes seductively out at the viewer in her high heel sandals with a flower in her hair and her modesty that is barely hidden by the explosion of peacock feathers. The two peacocks are animated Jaquemarts and set in motion by the hourstriker function. A peacock’s tail and wing move together with the sensual curves of the burlesque dancer to expose her beauty.
This complication automatically comes to life on the hour, the half-hour or on demand when the wearer presses the dedicated button. This miniature and hand-made paintings are the result of the Ulysse Nardin’s in-house miniature painters. It took from 50 to 90 hours of meticulous and painstaking work to complete each dial.
Ulysse Nardin Hourstriker Pin-Up is housed in an elegant, round case measuring 43mm in diameter. The case houses the in-house manufactured UN-610 self-winding movement that fuels the functions and 42-hour power reserve. The watch is protected on both sides with anti-reflective sapphire crystals. The case construction provides water resistance up to 30 meters (100 feet). The new Hourstriker Pin-Up watch comes with a black leather strap, fitted with a folding buckle.
