The house of Ulysse Nardin has released several new timepieces in anticipation of the upcoming Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2017 (SIHH) which takes place in January 2017, in Genève. The latest among them is an amazingly sporty piece dubbed Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing which is designed to pay tribute to America’s Cup team Artemis Racing.
The new Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing is racing-inspired watch that is characterized with ultramarine shades of blue and its distinctive wave pattern on two sides of the bezel. The crown, pushers, and case are wrapped in a blue rubber coating which gives the wristwatch a unique look and also ensures that the piece stays safe on its future owner’s wrist in wet environments and that it can be operated with ease and accuracy.
The partnership between Ulysse Nardin and America’s Cup team Artemis Racing is marked with the stylized Artemis Racing logo which is set in the 30-minute sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position. The logo is also set on one of the two bracelet elements.
The rubberized screw-down crown is designed for added water-resistance providing at least 200 meters (approximately 660 feet) of water resistance. Furthermore, a unidirectional bezel helps divers to measure diving time in a safe manner. It can only rotate in a counter-clockwise direction, thus preventing any accidental movements in the wrong direction which could cause injury, or even death, due to Decompression Illness.
Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing is housed in a rubber coated stainless steel case measuring 45.80mm in diameter. Underneath the front sapphire glass lies a sporty dial with two chronograph sub-dials which are set at 6 and 9 o’clock positions, a continuous seconds counter placed at the 3 o’clock position and an angled date aperture set between 4 and 5 o’clock positions. The dial also comprises luminescent Superluminova markers to provide perfect legibility even in the deep darkness. From the rear, there is a medallion stamped with an illustration of the catamaran in racing.
The new Diver Artemis Racing watch (ref. 353-98LE-3/ARTEMIS) is powered by the high-performance caliber UN-35 automatic movement which is built on 57 jewels. The impeccable mechanism offers no less than 42 hours of power reserve.
Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing comes with a blue rubber strap with two titanium elements, ending with a deployant clasp. The watch will be available from January 2017 in the brand’s boutiques worldwide.
