Baume & Mercier Clifton Collection has finally received its Tourbillon model at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva. The new Clifton Flying Tourbillon watch commemorates one year since the introduction of the Clifton collection at the last year’s SIHH.

Baume & Mercier Clifton 1892 Flying Tourbillon Watch
This novelty was inspired by a Baume & Co. Tourbillon pocket watch presented by Alcide Baume in 1892 at the Kew Observatory in England. This historic watch won with the remarkable score of 91.9 percent. With this amazing result, it remained the world’s most precise timepiece for 10 years.
Baume & Mercier Clifton Flying Tourbillon Watch is powered with the caliber P591 manually wound movement with the flying tourbillon. The impeccable mechanism features retrograde date and power reserve. It is capable to store enough power to keep the watch ticking for at least 50 hours. The Swiss-made movement oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).

The movement’s finish is of the highest quality, with a winding ratchet wheel inspired by those on traditional pocketwatches, as well as with Côtes de Genève decorations on the bridges, beading on the main plate and traditional finishes of the various parts – all crafted by the same watchmaker. All these interesting components are visible through the wide transparent sapphire glass case back.
Clifton Flying Tourbillon Watch is housed in a round 18-karat rose gold featuring curved lugs and “chevee” shaped glass. The elegant case measures 45.5mm in diameter and incorporates a thin bezel and a screw-in crown.

Underneath the front sapphire glass there is a beautiful silver dial with riveted 18kt red gold numerals and appliqués. A flying tourbillon carriage that rotates once per minute is placed at the 9 o’clock position, while a small seconds sub-dial is placed at the 6 o’clock position.
