While expecting the upcoming SIHH 2012, let us enjoy a little bit in the first look at this stunning Vacheron Constantin’s timepiece that will be officially presented in Geneva, in January next year. Featuring amazing tourbillon movement with 14 days of power-reserve, new Patrimony Traditionelle Tourbillon is a beautifull classic timepiece which stylish simplicity is a creation of a pure art.
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionalle 14-Days Tourbillon is the first brand’s watch, officially approved according to the new Hallmark of Geneva criteria that guarantees the origin, craftsmanship, durability and expertise. From the next year, this certification will no longer consider only a movement, but a watch in its entirety, including the manufacture of each component, check on all operations and the inspection of the finished product, with a particular focus on whether the assembly, adjustment and casing are completed inGeneva.
At the first glance, it is more than obvious that the new VC’s timepiece does not need any official approval to be recognized as the top end creation of the haute horology. The central part of this watch is a new in-house Calibre 2260 hand-wounding tourbillon movement which is exceptional by its design, accuracy and longevity.
In order to work 14 days when it is fully wound, this mechanism uses four barrels mounted in coupled pairs. They are all connected and all unwind simultaneously, logically, four times slower than a single barrel. Still, the regulating organ fitted inside the tourbillon provides higher accuracy and longer stability.
Beautiful Decoration
Unlike some previous brand’s tourbillons that incorporate three bridges, the new mechanism comes with two large bridges, finished with Côtes de Genève. Speaking about its decoration, we should mention that both visible and hidden parts of the tourbillon are beautifully finished. Its cariage, showcased through an aperture at the dial’s 6 o’clock position is inspired by the brand’s signature Maltese cross.
The opaline silver-toned dial features the minute track which is located slightly off-centre, leaving the impression of depth. Applied, facetted hour-markers (double at the 12 o’clock position) are made of pink gold, as well as dauphine hour and minute hands. The power-reserve indicator takes the 12 o’clock position.
The case of Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionalle 14-Days Tourbillon watch is crafted in pink gold, with the mid-size diameter of 42 mm (12.20 mm thick). A screw-down case-back fitted with a sapphire crystal also reveals a clear look at the exceptional mechanism. The highest elegance, inspired with the great heritage is completed with the stylish brown Mississippians alligator strap, with a folding triple-blade clasp in18 Karat pink gold.
