Richard Mille decided to reveal the most striking piece from its SIHH 2012 Collection to be officially presented in January, next year. Along with a RM 037 watch, comes the new in-house masterpiece, a Caliber CRMA1 self-winding mechanism which represents the highest skills of the brand’s movement designers in Les Breuleux, Switzerland.

Richard Mille Presents RM 037 WatchThose who cannot wait for the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2012 to find out all important details about the new Richard Mille’s model, now have a chance to get closer with the RM 037 watch and its heart that presents the innovative way of interacting with a winding crown.

This skeletonized automatic movement, made of 5 grade titanium is an exceptional piece that incorporates a new rotor and a free sprung balance with variable inertia. It has the power-reserve of 50 hours. Sophisticated technique and hand –finishing, in the spirit of the best Swiss watchmaking make this mechanism the highlight of the watch.

Richard Mille Presents RM 037 Watch CasebackThanks to the innovative solution, the mechanism is fully protected from external influences, since the crown is not attached directly to it. Direct attachment can damage a stem in the movement, in case of a sharp knock to the crown. The RM 037 has the crown separated from the case; therefore the stem is no longer required, which minimizes the risk of damaging.  The crown is crafted either in polished grade 5 titanium, red gold or white gold and incorporates a double seal O-ring and collar in Alcryn.

The parts of the RM 037 are compact and together they form a distinctive aesthetic look, characteristic for the best Richard Mille timepieces. A transparent dial that opens a clear look on the mechanism features over-sized Roman numerals that indicate hours, as well as a large date indicator at the 12 o’clock position.

A special function window takes the 4 o’ clock position. By pressing the push button at the 4 o’clock position, you can choose between  winding (W), neutral (N) and hand setting (H) functions. The second pusher, at the 10 o’clock position, controls date changes.

The tripartite case is protected by 2 Nitril O-ring seals and 20 screws in grade 5 titanium and abrasion resistant washers in steel 316L, guaranteeing the water resistance of 50 meters.
