Masterpieces as this Cartier’s Cadran Lové Tourbillon Watch surly is, have made Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) be one of a few most important haute horology shows in the world. The number of great technological innovations and design motifs, presented by the renowned watchmaker during the last several years, are remarkably incorporated into this skelotonized timepiece which itself has a unique form and an appealing aesthetic look.
Cartier Cadran Lové Tourbillon watch is going to be officially presented at SIHH watch show that will be held in Geneva from January 16 to January 20, 2012. The central part of this timepiece which will certainly be the big hit of the upcoming event is a stunning tourbillon movement, certified with the Geneva Seal. It is an in-house Caliber 9458MC hand-winding mechanism, with 167 components, 19 jewels, the frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a solid power-reserve of 50 hours.
However, what really makes this mechanism great is its flying tourbillon complication that changes the traditional principles of tourbillon’s construction. Instead of being incorporated between the bridges and the plate of the movement, the tourbillon carriage is designed in such a way that it looks as if it is floating above the bridges and the dial. This complication required exceptional skills and hours of work, resulting in the pure art that is totally opened to the view of a wearer. The Caliber 9458 is a variant of an already existing tourbillon movement, presented in ladies’ Alligator Tourbillon watch, at the last year’s SIHH.
The case of Cartier Cadran Lové Tourbillon timepiece is robust and bold, with the diameter of 46.2mm. It is made of grey gold and beautified with polished surfaces and a beaded crown, set with a cabochon sapphire. The extraordinary shape of the open dial looks like an arena which is surrounded with sculpted Roman numerals (already used on the Santos skeleton timepieces), highlighting the superb mechanism at the wavy central pattern. Central hour and minute hands are blue and show time on a golden ring with minute indices. The case is covered with sapphire crystals on both sides.
Cartier Cadran Lové Flying Tourbillon watch is available with a black semi-matt alligator skin, with a double adjustable deployment buckle in 18 karat grey gold. Cartier will release limited, numbered edition of 100 pieces.
This is a great innovation in the three-dimensional version of the dial. The only thing I do not like is the blue button on the watch.
I do not like skeleton watches but this is really a lot of excitement for fans of this look because of its pronounced 3 D design of the dial.
This watch really looks very strange but this is the future of watches. I also can not understand this skeleton look of the dial….The watch has space look.
