Inspired by the motor-sport, with a masculine design that follows a racing spirit, Seiko Sportura Double Retrograde Chronographs are perfect watches for those who like modern sport designs and plenty of features on a display.
As the brand’s leading sport line, the Sportura Collection is created to satisfy needs of active men, on a road, on a sport court, or in water. The newest Seiko Double Retrograde Men’s Chronograph is exactly that kind of watch that hits a target, putting functionality at the first place.
A black dial with a grey pattern features large silver hour indices, a minute scale with Arabic numerals and two retrograde sub-dials. The 10 minutes counter is at the 12 o’clock position, while the 100 minutes counter takes the 6 o’clock position. After 10 minutes, the hand on the upper dial automatically goes back to zero position to track time from 0 to 10 again, while the lower dial indicates that 10 minutes have elapsed. The chronograph provides measurements up to 5 hours, in 1/5th second increments (these are kinds of chronographs that are used by Tag Heuer in its Caliber S watches – read reviews of the SLR Calibre S Laptimer for Mercedes-Benz Chronograph and the Link Calibre S Chronograph).
Hardly noticeable sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position allows split-time measurements. A small date window is located inside the 100 minutes chronograph, at the 6 o’clock position. Hands and markers are coated with a luminous material, for better visibility, while the central second and chrono hands come in orange color. The dial is covered with an anti-reflective and scratch proof sapphire crystal.
Japanese Quartz Movement
Seiko Sportura Double Retrograde Chronograph has a sporty masculine case, made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 44 mm and 10 mm thick. It incorporates a black, ion plated bezel, a crown and two push buttons. Fixed with four steel screws, the bezel provides measurements of speed on its tachymeter scale. Inside the case beats the Caliber 7T85 quartz movement.
Two types of bracelets are available. The model SPC039P1 comes with a bold stainless steel bracelet, with a three-fold clasp and a push button release. The model SPC039P2 has a nicely designed leather strap.
The screw caseback and the crown contribute to a solid water resistance up to 100 meters (330 feet). These Seiko watches are available for around 400 U.S. dollars.
