Bronze, what amazing choice for an vintage watch design. The new Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo 47 mm watches bring the ages of sea adventures, durability of firmness and the famous brand’s accuracy.
The Panerai’s collection for 2011 is full of surprises, especially in terms of materials (new models are made either of bronze, Compozite, ceramic or platinum…). With them, brand’s classic designs and the unmatchable elegance got a new stunning look. Also, their excellent performances provide the highest durability, extremely important for diving Panerai watches.
The new Panerai Luminor Submersible watches are crafted of CuSn8 bronze, tough material, which is resistant to corrosion. It’s important to know that the bronze reacts to the external agents (air, humidity, heat and wear) and forms the patina. This means that, after the years of wearing, your watch will get the unique sign of aging.
If you appreciate the authentic vintage watch design, you’ll definitely be amazed with its new appearance. After all, the patina doesn’t affect the quality of material and you can always polish the watch case in order to bring back the previous shine of your Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo.
So, let’s recapitulate the story about material – case is made of brushed bronze and it is pretty large, with diameter of 47mm. It has famous shape from 1950’s and incorporates anti-clockwise unidirectional rotating bezel, also crafted in bronze. Bezel features graduated scale for calculating the immersion time and ratchet click at minute intervals. Finally, bronze is used for the special bridge, which protects the winding crown and contributes to the superb water-resistance up to 300 meters.
Panerai P.9000 Automatic Movement
The new Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo 47 mm watch is powered by in-house automatic Panerai P.9000 calibre, which has two barrels that provide power reserve of 72 hours. This movement oscillates at frequency of 28,800 alternations per hour and features 195 different components and 28 jewels. Thanks to Incabloc anti-shock device, it successfully withstands mechanical shocks.
The army green dial perfectly fits with bronze color of the case. It is simple and clean, with date window at 3 and small seconds on 9 o’clock. That’s pretty much all. Dial doesn’t have numerals, just luminous hour markers.
The new Panerai watches come with the personalized leather strap and large-size brushed titanium buckle. There are protected with the sapphire crystal, made from corundum, which has anti-reflective coating. The limited edition of Luminor Submersible Bronzo, in 1.000 pieces, will be launched in August. You’ll have a chance to buy it for around 7.000 euros.
Watch looks amazing.
For Panerai lovers I think this is one of must have watches!
This is definitely the best watch from 2011 Panerai edition. It has everything – design, style, perfect movement and great material. I’m deleted with the use of new materials. It is amazing to see unmatchable historic designs in new coats. Panerai Bronzo – even sounds cool.
Very beautiful watch, but not the first bronze by Panerai. Take quick search for Panerai SLOB.
Looking forward to seeing this watch in person. I can only imagine what the patina will look like in a few years of wear!!!!
Yes, but to my opinion, you cannot compare those two models. The Bronzo is a real breakthrough. Design is perfect and the Caliber P.9000 is much forward its concurrent, considering the construction and power-reserve. I’m desperately waiting August to see how it looks like at a wrist, before the final decision whether I will buy it or not.
