Mechanical perfection from Panerai, Radiomir Regatta 1/8th Second Titanio – 47 mm watch edition, is crown of a successfully partnership between Officine Panerai and British Classic Yacht Club.
As principal sponsor of The BCYC Panerai Cowes Regatta, leading classic yacht event in the UK, Italian watchmaker launched this unique edition of 500 units. It represents main characteristics of a Panerai watches – modern designee, powerful masculinity and high accuracy.
Ideal for a nautical competitions, this split-seconds chronograph has two counters – two hands, working simultaneously – and shows the marked times accurately in one-eighth of a second. “Radiomir Regatta” also disposes a scale for calculating boat speed in knots (nautical miles per hour).
Automatic Panerai OP XXI caliber, with a diameter of 13 ¼ lignes and 40 jewels, is resistant to mechanical shocks, and thanks to the great “reservoir of power”, works 42 hours with one winding.
A transparent case-back provides that future owners could enjoy in complexity of exclusive Panerai caliber.
Watertight to 10 bars (100 meters)
The entire mechanism is placed in a 47 mm case, made of brushed titanium, witch provides, as part of a brand’s tradition, 100-meters water-resistance. A slightly oversized titanium case with a fine polished bezel, also includes brand’s patented, wire loop strap-attachments and brand’s personalized winding crown.
Series “Radiomir” were created for the Italian Navy in the year 1938. Its large dial on the panel, coated with an unusual luminous substance (internally called “Radiomir”), didn’t really represent noticeable Italian stile.
Appearance of watch, at the time, has been dictated by the needs of Italian commandos who, above all, required large, powerful and accurate timepieces.
Nowadays, behind 1.9 mm thick, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, there is a stylish black dial with two luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. At 3 o’clock position are placed minute and knot counter, wile 1/8th second sub-dial is located at 9 o’clock. Chronograph and split-seconds hands are at the dial’s centre.
Radiomir Regatta 1/8th Second Titanio – 47 mm was made in limited edition of 500 unites. It is not known whether that number is randomly matched with the number of participants in this year’s Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge, “but it is very likely that most of them, just like most Panerai collectors will hurry to buy watches from this serial.
I must admit that I don`t like Panerai watches, but this one left a really nice impression on me when I saw it for the first time. I prefer watches with round shapes, but this watch has a very interesting and unusual shape, and the whole design, too.
I like the blue hand on the dial. It gave freshness to the black color of the dial and the leather strap. Also, this watch has very nice features and a reliable movement. Besides, I like the fact that it has sapphire anti-reflective glass and titanium case, those things are very important for a potential buyer.
I don`t know the price of this watch, but there is no doubt that it costs a lot of euros. Of course, the quality of the watch is so high that it justifies the price for this Panerai. The power reserve of 42 hours is just enough for any normal man, as well as the water resistance of 100 meters. This is one of the greatest watches from Panerai.
This watch is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen in my whole life. I know that Panerai watches have special designs, but this model is something really special. Another thing is OP XXI caliber that this watch has. This movement is so good and reliable. Personally, I think that it’s the best movement from all Panerai collections.

I’ve chosen this model because it looks perfect for me. Wearing Panerai watches is my family tradition. My dad wears a Panerai, my brother also and I’ll join them very soon. This Panerai Radiomir Regatta is the first one on my new watches list. I really hope that I’ll find it.
