Officine Panerai has recently launched the new Radiomir Chronograph 42mm PAM00369. Its new mechanism and significantly smaller case, compared to other watches from the Contemporary collection, give it a unique touch, without altering the iconic vintage design of Panerai Radiomir timepieces.
The new Radiomir Chronograph is powered by the exclusive Panerai OP XXIII Calibre self-winding movement (the Radiomir Chrono PAM00288 incorporates OP XII Calibre). The new mechanism comprises 37 jewels, the monometallic Glucydur® balance and the Incabloc® anti-shock device. These elements make it highly durable and resistant to mechanical shocks, which is confirmed with the Chronometer certification (C.O.S.C.).
This automatic chronograph movement with the Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges beats with 28,800 vibrations per hour and when it is fully wound, it can work independently (without wrist movement) for approximately 42 hours.
The case with removable wire loop strap attachments is made of AISI 316L polished steel and has a 42 mm in diameter (45 mm is the standard size for Panerai watches from Contemporary collection), which still looks masculine, but it is more suitable for an average size of a wearer’s wrist. The case incorporates a polished steel bezel, a personalized OP winding crown and polished steel push-pieces for the chronograph functions, at the 2 and the 4 o’clock positions. The screw caseback is also made of steel.
Two chronographs and a Small Seconds Sub-dial
The black dial of the Radiomir Chronograph features luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, the 30 minute counter at the 9 o’clock position, the small second sub-dial at the 3 o’clock position and the central chronograph hand. It is covered with a 1.5 mm thick sapphire crystal that provides nice anti-reflective protection for a superb legibility.
Ever since Officine Panerai created the first Radiomir in 1938 to respond the highest demands of the Royal Italian Navy, watches from this range have been renowned by their robustness, reliability in extreme conditions and great readability, but also by their elegance and authentic styles. Today, the Contemporary Radiomir collection is composed of the Radiomir Black Seal® Automatic, the Radiomir GMT-Alarm, the Radiomir Chronograph and the Radiomir 10 Days GMT.
The new Radiomir Chronograph 42mm PAM00369 watch is available with a Panerai personalized leather strap and a polished steel buckle. It has the brand’s standard water-resistance up to 100 meters (300 feet).
Movement is very good and reliable. But except that there is no reason for me to wear this watch. It’s simply not my style.
Good design, great functions and very interesting dial. This watch is simple, refined and it’s right choice for urban man like me. I’m thrilled with this Panerai Radiomir. Really great watch!
These watches are watches with one of the best mechanisms. Also, they have a very nice design and good functions. I had a Panerai four years ago and I was very satisfied how it worked. Now I have a Fossil, but it is not even close to the Panerai, so I think I will buy a Panerai once again and this model is very nice and it suits my style.
I don´t like this watch. It doesn´t look so good, it´s too ordinary. Also, I don´t agree with you, Jay, Panerai doesn´t have the best mechanism. Omega, Rolex, Bulova or Tag Heuer have much better mechanisms.
Let’s clear up something – I don´t hate Panerai watches, I just think that there are a lot of better brands in the world of watches.
Derek I agree with you. These watches don`t have the best mechanism, but their mechanism is very good and it´s very reliable. That´s the fact. If we talk about the design and the look of the watch, this model is nice, no doubt, and it looks very unusual and interesting.
Bill and Mathis you are both philistines, firstly Omega, Bulova and Tag are not in the same luxury category as Panerai or Rolex…. a step down or two at the least, and very few ( if any) offer inhouse movements…while Panerai does on many models…Rolex on the other hand is horologic ally a step above movement wise as theirs are entirely inhouse…. however Panerais can command as high, if not higher prices due to their cult following and percieved quality…. there are really only 3 brands worth owning from a resale stand point, namely Rolex, Patek Philippe and Panerai…. Audemars Piguet and A.L.S are a close 2nd.
