The prestigious Monaco Yacht Show will start just three days ahead of the fifth Only Watch auction. During the show, all 36 one-of-a-kind timepieces will be presented to the exclusive guests. That will be a perfect opportunity for some of the yachtsmen to fall in love with new Louis Vuitton Tambour Spin Time Regatta watch, created as a unique piece to be auctioned for the charity. With its great functionality, this timepiece meets all the standards of the high-end yachting watches, while its interesting design pays homage to both events to be held in Monaco, in September.
New Tambour Spin Time Regatta Chronograph features the most important performance for a yachting timepiece. It is a countdown timer that provides a yachtsman with very important information about time remaining until the start of the race. At this particular watch, this feature is presented by five square-shaped markers, placed at the 1,2,3,4 and 5 o’clock positions. When it is set by the pusher at the left side of the watch, the minute hand starts counting the last five minutes that are left for the final preparations.
Furthermore, there are two chronograph sub-dials that count time of the regatta. The 30-minute counter is at the 12 o’clock position, while the 12-hour sub-dial takes the 6 o’clock position. At the 9 o’clock position there is a cool decoration – an applied yacht with the brand’s logo on its enamel sail. The golden yacht is inscribed with the name of Paul Pettavino, a teenager affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (son of Luc Pettavino, the creator of the Only Watch). The dial is protected with anti-reflective sapphire crystal. It nicely matches a stylish blue alligator strap with red stitching and a buckle in 18 karat pink gold.
Louis Vuitton’s one-of-a-kind watch features an 18 karat pink gold case, with the diameter of 45.5 mm and the thickness of 16 mm. The robust size of the case makes the watch easy-to-use, as well as highly readable. It is nicely polished and features a characteristic branding. The robust crown and chrono-counters are covered with rubber.
New Tambour Spin Time Regatta Chronograph is powered by Louis Vuitton LV156 self-winding chronograph movement. It oscillates at the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides the power reserve of 48 hours. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet).
