This unique central tourbillon wristwatch is a true example how a great idea and an exceptional skill create an amazing piece of art. Constructed manually by the group of the brand’s best horologists, Omega Skeleton Central Tourbillon Co-Axial Platinum Limited Edition timepieces set the highest standards in the watchmaking industry.
The central part of this masterpiece is inside the case. The real representative of Omega’s cutting edge technology, the automatic central Tourbillon, groups together all the components which are crucial for watch accuracy, inside a titanium cage. It makes one rotation per minute, eliminating the effect of gravity on the mechanism’s accuracy.
This great complication is housed in the exclusive OMEGA Co-Axial Calibre 2636. This brown, PVD coated, self-winding mechanism, with a spiral pattern is assembled from 320 individual parts. It is an officially certified chronometer and has a power-reserve of 45 hours. Along with great performances, this mechanism is created to amaze the world of haute horology, also by its design. Throughout the skeletonized dial and the sapphire crystal caseback, Omega Skeleton Central Tourbillon watch allows a clear look on all main parts of the movement.
An Exceptional Job of the Best Watchmakers
Spending more than 500 hours in its creation, the Swiss watchmakers had kept only the essential material on the plates and bridges, and then beveled their edges. The luxurious sun-brushed and circular graining finish of the mechanism, along with hand polished bridges, provides a real pleasure for all passionate watch lovers. Each part of the movement and the case was made exclusively for these Omega watches.
Every craftsman signed his or her initial on the main tourbillon plate to insure that the Central Tourbillon would be returned to him/her, after Omega’s servicing. This is a nice way for keeping authenticity of each watch that is, at the end, a complete creation of just one watchmaker.
Golden hour and minute hands cannot be set on the central shaft in the usual way. Instead, they are engraved on two separate sapphire discs that rotate around the centre axis by gearing at the peripheries. Even if he dial does not look easy to read at the first glance, the central ring with second indices helps tracking the time precisely.
The Central Tourbillons have mid-size platinum cases, with the diameters of 38.7 mm. A highly polished bezel emphasizes the skeleton dial, coated with a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with an anti-reflective treatment. The watch is available with a black crocodile strap. It is water-resistant up to 30 meters (100 feet).
Omega launched only 18 pieces of Skeletonized Tourbillon Co-Axial Platinum Limited Edition timepiece.
