Reinterpretation of De Ville Co-Axial Chronoscope
The Official Timekeeper at 24 Olympic Games, Omega, reproduced its De Ville Co-Axial Chronoscope watch for brand’s Specialities Olympic Timeless Collection. Dedicated to the most important sport event in the world, this reinterpretation, along with several other models, proudly recalls time of highest accuracy and great sport achieve.
Next Olympic Games, which takes place in London, will be a big jubilee for Swiss watchmaker. It will be 25th Olympics for the company, as well as the 80 years from the first Omega’s appearance as the official timekeeper, back in 1932, in Los Angeles. This year was the inspiration for the new collection.
Omega watches from Olympic Timeless Collection preserved some of striking features from 1930’ chronographs. Each timepiece in the collection has the vintage red brand’s name and logo from the original, as well as the inscription “Official Timekeeper”, imprinted on the case back.
Finally, the symbol of the Olympic Games, five interlocking colored rings, is placed as the counterweights to the central seconds hand. Other features depend of the reinterpreted model (De Ville Chronoscope, Seamaster Planet Ocean, Speedmaster 5-Counters Chronograph…).
Olympic De Ville
The Omega De Ville Co-Axial Chronoscope in the Olympic Timeless Collection comes with a white dial, stylish black Arabic numerals and minute track, alongside the outer rim.
Watch dial also features classic looking sub-dials – 30-minute recorder is at 3 o’clock position, 12-hour counter is at 6, while the 60 seconds sub-dial is placed at 9 o’clock. Rhodium plated hour, minute and small seconds hands are gray, while chronographs’ and central second hands are blue.
The De Ville Co-Axial Chronoscope of the Omega Olympic Collection is moved by the in-house calibre 3202, which is officially certified as chronometer, thanks to its stunning accuracy, durability and stability. This self-winding chronograph movement has a power reserve of 52 hours.
This amazing model, which attracts the passionate watch lovers and collectors of classic timepieces, is protected with anti-reflective sapphire crystal and can withstand a water-pressure up to 100 meters (330 feet).
The case of this particular watch from the Omega Specialities Olympic Timeless Collection is made of stainless steel, with diameter of 41 mm. It comes with a brown alligator leather strap and polished stainless steel holdover clasp.
