American Ryder Cup team captain and just announced Omega’s brand ambassador Davis Love III received a unique Seamaster Aqua Terra “Captain’s Watch” that is going to wear during the upcoming Ryder Cup. The special edition of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronometer watch, with its stylish sporty look perfectly matches the character of the prestigious competition to be held this September, at the Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Saptains Watch

The perfectly executed watch will follow Omega’s premiere role of the Ryder Cup’s Official Timekeeper. Last year, the famous Swiss manufacturer launched the Seamaster Aqua Terra “Golf” timepiece, celebrating its partnership with PGA of America.  Basically, the “Captain’s Watch” is a silver dial variation of this watch. However, with several authentic features it looks a way better than the black/green “Golf” watch.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra “Captain’s Watch” features a remarkably brushed and polished stainless steel case, with the diameter of 41.50 mm. Its polished bezel perfectly matches brilliance of a stainless steel bracelet, as well as the silver, luminous dial. It is a “teak-pattern” type of a dial, which is a trademark of the Aqua Terra line. Inspired by the wooden decks of luxury boats, a vertical pattern gives the nice doze of stylishness to this sport timepiece.

Applied hour markers are made of brushed and polished 18 karat white gold. Instead of the marker at the 3 o’clock position, there is a date window. Facetted blue hands that are coated with Super-LumiNova look really beautiful at the light surface. To increase readability, the central seconds hand is marked with a yellow tip. The brand’s logo, as well as “CO-AXIAL CHRONOMETER” inscription and non-numeral indices on the minute track that runs inside the other rim, are all red. Together with blue color of “Seamaster”, “150m/500ft” and numerals on the minute track, they subtly recall Davis Love III’s national flag.

A polished screw-in case-back, covered with sapphire crystal reveals an OMEGA’s Co-Axial Caliber 8500 self-winding movement. Along with a co-axial escapement, it incorporates a Si14 silicon balance spring, providing superb accuracy, stability and reliability that deserved COSC certification. The OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra “Captain’s Watch” is water resistant up to 150 meters (500 feet). This certainly is a kind of watch that every brand’s fan would like to have in a personal collection.

This is one of the greatest watches from Omega. The best part is definitely the design of the dial. It’s so unique and interesting. I intend to order it, but I have a little problem, I don’t know its price. Can somebody help me, please?

I don’t know about the price, but I can tell you one thing – don’t buy that watch. It’s very expensive, that’s for sure, and for that amount of money, you can buy some other watch which is even better than this one. For example, you can buy a Sector watch or maybe a Tissot watch which is better than this Omega.

You’re maybe right, Zack, but you don’t understand one thing. I want this watch! I just asked if somebody knows how much it costs. That’s all. Thank you for this advice, but like I said, this watch is what I wish for and it will definitely be mine.
