OMEGA has updated its Seamaster Aqua Terra Line with a new timepiece that symbolizes its growing involvement in the world of golf.  The new Seamaster Aqua Terra “Golf” comes slightly changed compared to previous variations (read our reviews), with some distinctive elements on the dial that associate on the game of golf.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf WatchFamous by its long-lasting history of investments in sport and sportsmen, the Swiss watchmaker is increasing its interest in golf.  With its title sponsorship of some of the golf’s most important events, such as European Masters, Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai Ladies’ Masters and the World Cup of Golf, Omega tries to secure global presence in this prestigious sport. Recently, the Swiss brand has also become the Official Timekeeper of PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, PGA Professional National Championship and Ryder Cup.

This is the main reason why it decided to dedicate one model from its very popular line to golf. Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Golf” wristwatch does not bring special performances that will be particularly useful during the game. This is not a professional kind of watches, but still it is a sporty, elegant and luxury timepiece which perfectly matches with the world of golf.

The dial of the watch features a green “Seamaster” name and the numbers on the minute track, as well as the tip of the central second hand, which also reminds on the verdant golf courses. This would probably be the highlight of the dial, if the Swiss watchmaker did not apply its renowned “Teak Concept” – an aesthetically designed black dial, with a unique vertical pattern, inspired by the wooden decks on luxury boats. This very interesting combination of green and black will possibly not satisfy those with conservative style, but if you like to experiment with colors, I recommend this variation.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Golf Watch DialRaised hour markers with elegant finishes are made of brushed and polished 18 Kt white gold. Thanks to white Super-LumiNova coating, the dial is highly readable. The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Golf” watch has a 41.5 mm case crafted in brushed and polished stainless steel. It nicely fits an Omega’s patented screw and pin stainless steel bracelet.

Inside the case beats an in-house Co-Axial caliber 8500, a self-winding mechanism with superb chronometric performances. It features the revolutionary Co-axial escapement, a free sprung balance, a balance bridge, a shock absorber and two barrels that increase power reserve to 60 hours.

Omega Co-Axial Calibre 8500 Watch CasebackSome of the world’s most famous golfers, such as an Australian legend, Greg Norman, Sergio Garcia from Spain, S. Y. Noh from South Korea and an American superstar, Michelle Wie, are Omega’s ambassadors. We expect to see them very soon with this beautiful watch from the Seamaster Collection.

A very nice and stylish dial. I am a fan of old-fashioned design. This Omega Seamaster is a perfect choice for me as a person who loves old classics. After all, this model reminds me of old watches. It looks perfect.

I think that I would never wear this watch, even if someone gave it to me. It is so ugly and it seems uninteresting. I like modern watches which have chronographs and nice dials…..

  3. Chad La Ville December 31, 2011

This model would look much better with a chronograph. Also, young people like me don’t like watches like this, but this is an excellent choice for my dad or uncle. I must tell them about this.
