In order to celebrate 50 years of James Bond movie-making, the renowned Swiss watchmaker created a special redesigned version of the iconic Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond timepiece that was worn by the world’s most famous spy in Golden Eye and other adventures that followed. Produced in two sizes, James Bond 50th Anniversary Seamaster 300M watches come with several super interesting features that nicely indicate the special occasion.
Although they are released as Limited Editions, one can argue about their exclusivities, since there are even 11007 produced pieces of 41 mm model, while a smaller version with a 36.25mm case comes in the edition of 3007 pieces. Both versions have stainless steel cases which incorporate ceramic unidirectional rotating bezels, with elapsed diving-time scales in matt chromium nitride. The number “50″ comes in red to stress the anniversary year. Both timepieces are available with brushed and polished OMEGA patented screw-and-pin stainless steel bracelets.
A 007 monogram pattern on a lacquered black dials is the most controversial part of the new watch that already generates different opinions among Omega’s avid fans. This pattern is similar to the one of a 2002 Limited Edition watch, but it is much more striking now. If it had to be a pattern, I would rather like to see something like a Seamaster Aqua Terra. However, new Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond watch has some pretty cool features that can captivate you at the first glance.
First of all, there is a great screw-in case back with a gun-barrel effect that is shown in the opening sequence of James Bond movies. Another original element is a “bullet” decorated rotor that is visible through the central sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating inside.
Now, let us go back to the dial. While the 41mm version has the face with 11 hand-applied hour indices, the second version is distinctive by a diamond marker at the 7 o’clock position. The readability of the dial is exceptional, even in the extreme conditions, thanks to the white SuperLumiNova coating on hour markers and the green SuperLumiNova on the minute hand and the 12 o’clock bezel marker.
The Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond 50th Anniversary watch has the superb water-resistance up to 300 meter (660 feet). One of the features that provides this is a helium escape valve that allows gas to escape during decompression. Inside the case, there is an in-house Co-Axial Calibre 2507 self-winding movement, with the revolutionary escapement that provides greater stability, durability and exceptional chronometric performances that are guaranteed with the official certificate.
What can I say about this watch?! It is perfect! It is indeed worth of the name that it carries – James Bond. This watch has a lot of good stuff, such as a nice design, a reliable mechanism and it is made by people from Omega, which is the best watch brand in the world.
When I saw this watch for the first time, I have noticed two great things. The first thing is an incredibly beautiful black dial with small ˝007˝ signs inside of it. That dial looks beautiful in the combination with stainless steel. The second thing is the interesting back side of the watch, a “bullet” decorated rotor. If I had to chose only one word to describe this watch, I would choose – perfection.
This watch is so good that I can`t find the words to describe it. I`m thrilled with the look of the watch and with the details. Like Jimmy said – the dial and the back side are incredible! Well done, guys!
This is an incredible watch. A true Bond watch. I like the design of this new Omega watch. The back side of the case is really interesting. It will be really great to finally see the new James Bond, Mr Daniel Craig, with this nice watch around his wrist.
Wow, this watch is great! It would be a true honor for anybody who wears this watch. I guess that it’s very expensive. Every Bond watch was good so far, but this one is the best! Omega is a very good brand and of course, they made an extraordinary and quality watch named by the greatest world’s secret agent, James Bond.
It is amazing!!! Just bought one few days ago. The 007 repeated across the dial only shows up at certain angle and certain light condition. That is the beauty of it.
It is very accurate.
Since it is a limited edition and very hard to find, so have to pay full price $5k for it.
