The newest adventure of the most famous spy, played by Daniel Craig, will have the worldwide release in November, 2012. For the renowned Swiss watchmaker, this is the ideal opportunity to come with another Special Edition, dedicated to the movie hero. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean “SKYFALL” is created in the Limited Edition of 5,007 pieces. While 007 obviously implies on the agent’s code name, the number 5 might imply on the five decades since the first James Bond’s movie has been released.
As the James Bond’s favorite watch, Omega Seamaster is a part of his impeccable style for the seventh time. Ever since Pierce Brosnan wore it in Golden Eye, great diving timepieces from the Seamaster Collection have played their roles in Bond’s movies. Daniel Craig’s choice has always been the best that Omega could offer – the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m. This is why the Swiss watchmaker has chosen this model to commemorate his next movie ‘Skyfall’.
Beside some standard performances that ensure the high-end quality of these diving watches, the newest timepiece comes with several unique features, such as a pretty cool pattern consisting of etched horizontal lines, as well as the “007″ logo at the 7 o’clock position. Furthermore, the black-varnished, SKYFALL 007 logo is engraved on the rotor of the mechanism which is completely opened through the sapphire crystal case-back. It is the superb Omega Co-Axial Caliber 8507 self-winding movement. Along with the revolutionary co-axial escapement, its silicon balance spring guarantees exceptional performances.
For the Seamaster Planet Ocean “SKYFALL” Edition, the Swiss watchmaker has chosen a case with the diameter of 42 mm. It is crafted in stainless steel with nicely polished and brushed finishes. A matt black ceramic bezel with luminescent indices can be rotated in one direction. Besides, the watch features a helium escape valve and a screw-in crown. All together, these features ensure exceptional diving performances up to 600 meters (2000 feet).
The black dial with a unique pattern comes with highly luminescent applied hour markers which are covered by white Super-Luminova that emits blue light in low-light conditions (as well as hour and seconds hands). Along with a minute hand and the dot on the diving bezel that emit green glow, they are very useful features for professional divers.

Earlier this year, Omega has already released the limited edition dedicated to James Bond. It is the Omega James Bond 50th Anniversary Watch which is based on the Seamaster Professional model. Without any doubt, the new Planet Ocean is a better timepiece in so many ways, but we will wait to see the brand’s fans response. The Seamaster Planet Ocean “SKYFALL” Edition is available for around € 4760.
It’s incredible that there are only 5007 pieces of this watch. Of course, the 007 is well known, but I didn’t know that last year was five decades since the first James Bond’s movie has been recorded. Honestly, I like these Omega watches, especially those without chronograph and many other features. Generally, I like relaxing watches, and this is one of them, that’s for sure.
This watch really looks cool, but I must admit that I really like watches with many useful features, which isn’t the case with this Omega watch. As I said, it looks okay, but it isn’t a watch for my taste.
I agree with Sean, this watch isn’t anything special. There are a lot better watches from Omega, especially in the Seamaster collection. You should look for some of those watches, they are great! I now wear a Tissot T-Sport and I’m very satisfied how it works and how it looks like. But my opinion is that generally, Omega has better watches than Tissot.
