The Series 800 by Movado Watches in now richer for a new men’s model that runs on a Swiss-made quartz movement and includes a GMT feature coupled with a cities ring on the bezel. It possesses a black PVD coating on its mid-sized case and has a dark dial with a recognizable concave dot at the top. Available in two similar versions with slightly different colored dials and their accents, the watch retails at $1,695.
As it has been mentioned, the watch possesses a GMT hand that displays time in the Greenwich Mean Time zone. The inner scale that this hand with the peculiar arrow-shaped body and narrow tip rotates on is divided into 24 hours. Additionally, it includes a darker and a lighter half to indicate whether it is night or day. The world time feature of the watch is achieved by coupling the GMT hand with a unidirectional bezel with a ring that has the names of 24 major cities on it, so it is not actually a world timer in an original meaning. However, this does not mean that the watch is not useful for viewing the correct time around the globe. Apart from three central hands and a world time feature, the watch also includes a date display at the traditional three o’clock position.
A Black or a Gray Dial
The newcomer by Movado is placed inside a round steel housing with black PVD coating which is 42 mm wide, 11.3 mm thick and has a screw-down crown. It is made with a sapphire crystal which contributes to the fact that the timepiece has a four figure price. The supported water resistance is to 50 meters. Inside the black housing of the new Series 800 timepiece is a Swiss made quartz movement. Unfortunately, the watchmaker does not state the specific model of the module. The analog dial of Movado Series 800 World Timer is with applied hour markers, printed indices and luminous hands. For the attachment, the manufacturer chose a black calfskin strap with round perforations which fastens with a classic tongue buckle made from steel.
There are two versions of the timepiece. The first one bears the reference number 2600117 and possesses a black dial with white accents, while the version with the serial number 2600118 combines its gray dial with rose gold and white accents. Regardless of the version, the retail price of the new Movado timepiece is $1,695.
