Swiss manufacturer of luxury timepieces, Audemars Piguet, will be participating in the Only Watch charity event for the fourth time. For this year, the brand has prepared an impressive product named the Jules Audemars Gstaad Classic Only Watch 2011 Chronograph. This fine timepiece, set in an elegant 18-carat pink gold case, is based on the brand’s Gstaad Classic Limited Series that comes in a titanium case.
The watch by Audemars Piguet has a vintage-style design, evocative of the 1920s. The classical touch is a distinctive feature of all timepieces from the Jules Audemars collection. This time, such retro style is intermingled with sporty automotive theme. The reason for such influence is the special purpose of its creation. The titanium limited edition was created for the Gstaad Classic rally, sponsored by Audemars Piguet. The Gstaad Classic race takes place on demanding roads of the Swiss Alps. This year’s edition of the rally, scheduled to take place between August 31th and September 4th, will include over hundred teams.
The vintage yet dynamical wristwatch by Audemars Piguet is powered by an automatic mechanical movement with power reserve of over 60 hours. The dial includes a tachymeter scale on the outer edge and two sub dials. The 30-minute sub dial is at the nine o’clock position, while the small seconds indicator sits on the opposite side, at the three o’clock. Besides, the Jules Audemars Gstaad Classic Only Watch 2011 Chronograph possesses a red sweeping second hand with pink gold hollow moon-shaped counterweight.
Upholstery-Styled Stitching on a Leather Strap
The inscription “Audemars Piguet Only Watch” is engraved on the case back. Logo of the Gstaad Classic rally and the year 2011 are also in the central part of the case back that includes a transparent window, which offers a look on its self-winding movement. The case back also bears the engraving that confirms that this is a unique timepiece (1/1).
This exquisite watch possesses a hand-sewn leather strap, which is in chestnut-brown color. It also includes rhombus-shaped stitching, similar to those on the padding of a sports car. The chronograph pusher, located at the two o’clock, is in silver color, and thus easier to differentiate from the crown and the other pusher. This feature is in total accordance with the automotive theme and very suitable for rally drivers, who have to be focused on the road at all times.
