Awarded at the Grand Prix de l’horlogerie de Genève, in November 2010, a concept of this masterpiece had been developed for three years, before it became an absolutely unique time telling device. Watches from the Klepcys collection have been produced in the limited edition of 88 pieces. Then, Cyrus made same slight changes in design and created a one-of-a-kind timepiece – the Klepcys Piece Unique for Only Watch 2011.
The Cyrus Klepcys Piece Unique is made for a good cause. Along with other 39 exceptional pieces, it will be auctioned to benefit a fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy which is the most common fatal genetic disease of children. Each brand has created a special watch for this charity event that will take place inMonaco, on September 22. All these brands took care about authentic details that go with their products.
For instance, Tag Heuer offers its stunning Monaco Mikrograph in a unique watch-box, conceptualized and painted by Paul du Toit. Richard Mille donates the personal timepiece of a famous tennis player, Rafael Nadal (read the review of the RM027). Cyrus decided to devote a special attention to the future owner of the Klepcys Piece Unique watch, by planning an interesting “after party” for him or her.
A lucky owner will be an exclusive brand’s guest in Switzerland – in Le Locle, receiving the “pièce unique” directly from manufacturers. He or she will spend time with the team that created the Klepcys collection, led by Jean-François Mojon (awarded “best conceptor/watchmaker” at the Grand Prix de l’horlogerie de Genève), discovering every single detail about the watch construction that has never been revealed in public before. Finally, a future owner will be taken to a secret place to spend a unique night!
You Have Never Seen This Before
This watch represents a unique way of showing time. It is powered by an automatic movement, constructed of 456 parts, which incorporates retrograde, rotating hour, minute and second wheels. A retrograde hour hand goes along 180°, rotates and changes its color, indicating a period of the day. (White indicates day, while red indicates night.) 
Minute and second discs are always aligned, showing the time in a linear way, with great accuracy.
Another great thing about this timepiece is its retrograde date indicator which is also the brand’s patented technology. Digits from 0 to 9 lie one on top of the other, while rotating tens display a day of the month in different combinations with them.
Maybe the most striking part of the Cyrus Klepcys Piece Unique watch is the unique moon phase indicator, called a “face of the moon”. This three-dimensional golden ball that represents the full moon with realistic crater images is gradually covered by a black patch, shoving the exact position of the moon.
In order to create one-of-a-kind timepiece for the Only Watch, Cyrus made some changes on the dial and the caseback, compared to the original version. First of all, the red and white colors that associate withMonacoare used for some elements on the dial, while the red number 11 indicates the year of auction. Finally, the caseback features engraved “pièce unique – ONLY WATCH 2011”.
Its robust, 48 mm case is crafted in 18-carat gold and black titanium and comes in combination with a stylish, black leather strap. The back of this piece of art incorporates an authentic copy of the original 2,500 year old coin.
