A new and unique timepiece that was made for the Only Watch 2011 by the Parisian jewelry and a watch-making giant, Chaumet, is part of its Dandy collection of evening watches. Two limited editions from the collection that preceded this watch are characterized, just like this product, with discreet elegancy and couture details. New and exclusive Chaumet Dandy Arty Open Face Watch represents pure luxury and is surprisingly avant-garde.

Chaumet Dandy Arty Open Face WatchLike all the pieces from the collection, this unique Chaumet product that was created for the Only Watch 2011 charity auction is set in a signature cushion-shaped case. The unusual two-body case is 40 mm wide and made of polished stainless steel. It also includes graciously curved lugs, and a large steel crown, placed at the 12 o’clock position, as it would be on a pocket watch. Both sides of the case are protected with blue sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatments.

A Look of Nonchalance and Engineering Perfection

Made to be fit for an aristocrat, the stylish watch by Chaumet combines nonchalance of a true dandy and an improved design that comes close to perfection. The uniqueness of the watch is clearly reflected on its asymmetric dial which sports off-center minutes and hours display with a Fausses Cotes decoration on the movement plate (a part of the movement is displayed through the dial of the Chaumet Dandy Arty Watch). The off-centered seconds display, set at the 3 o’clock position, is replaced by a stunning blue perforated wheel. The fine deep-blue dial is completed with blued steel epee hands.

The movement of Chaumet Dandy Arty Watch, visible through the transparent case back, is the Caliber CP 127-V rhodium-plated automatic mechanical movement with 25 jewels. The intricate self-winding movement has a straight-line lever escapement, a shock absorber for improved resistance, and a self-compensating flat balance spring.

The watch by Chaumet also sports a single vertical blue stripe decoration on its dial. This stripe is continued on the strap of Chaumet Dandy Arty Watch. It is also worth noting that the dial, the case and the movement are signed, and that the watch comes accompanied by a fitted box and the certificate of authenticity.

Though it is still not revealed, it is expected that this unique timepiece will include a tuxedo-style couture strap made of varnished leather and velvet. Besides, it is likely that the watch will include water resistance of 30 meters.
