Exactly 1000 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds before the beginning of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, famous Swiss watchmaker Omega has revealed the clock that is going to count down time to the Opening Ceremony, planed for the 7th of February 2014.
Two months after it had launched the count down clock for the beginning of London 2012 Olympic Games, Omega presented another masterpiece. The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games clock is designed to reflect lively spirit and colorful landscape of Sochi region, featuring both majestic mountains and the Black Sea. Bold design also represents Russian cultural and artistic history.
While the front side of the clock counts down time to the opening of the Olympic Winter Games, the back side shows remaining time to the beginning of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games, which will start one month later.
Started from the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1932, Omega has been official timekeeper of the most important sport event in the world 24 times. Since its first Countdown Clock was introduced in 2006, they have been among the most visited Olympic Games images. In 2009, Swiss watchmaker and the International Olympic Committee announced the extension of their agreement through 2020.
