If you are a fan of Zenith watches and automotive sport, El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tour Auto Edition is just the watch for you. This piece from the brand’s iconic El Primero line of timekeepers is supplied with a renowned high-beat movement that features the operational frequency of 5 Hz as it is common for this sort of watches. Another expected trait which is especially useful in this instance is its chronograph feature. Finally, the watch also sports a clearly race car inspired appearance which is mostly shown with the featured three-colored vertical stripe. This sort of styling is based on the fact that the watch is dedicated to the famous Tour Auto Optic 2000 race.

The new El Primero timekeeper by Zenith is certainly not one of its more radical products, since it features traits that were previously seen in quite a few other models. Its basic strong point and recommendation is its racing spirit and origin which makes perfect for classic car enthusiasts that are the same time Zenith aficionados.

Zenith EL Primero Chronomaster 1969 Tour Auto Edition is placed inside a circular housing which is made of stainless steel which received a brushed finishing as in order to make it look more dashing. The round case features the diameter of 42 mm and the thickness of 14.05 mm. Both sides of the case are guided with sapphire crystals. The front one is made in the shape of a dome and it is treated with double glare-proofed treatment. This crystal offers the view to its brushed rhodiumed gray dial which is made visually more attractive by both its skeletonized section and vertical lines that resemble the ones seen on the paint job of a classic sports car.

The skeletonized section that shows the functioning and the inner working of the movement lays at the upper left section of the dial. The right side, on the other hand, is the setting for its two chrono sub-counters and its three-colored stripe. By the way, the 12-hour counter of its chronograph feature is placed at the very bottom, while the counter for 30-minutes sits at the three o’clock position. The watch also includes three cwntral hands (as well as a central chronograph second hand) and small seconds sub-dial placed on top of a skeletonized section at the nine o’clock position. It should also be said that the periphery of the dial is reserved for tachymetric scale.

The beating heart og the Zenith model which is dedicated to cars and racing is El Primero 4061 caliber. It is a self-winding movement comprised of 282 componenets in total. It also includes 31 jewels. As for its dimensions, the caliber has the diameter of 13 ¼ lignes (which is exactly 30 mm) and the height of 6.6 mm. This specific caliber is not a seldom used one, far from it. As it is customary for the El Primero watches, it beats at the rate of 36,000 vph. Another common feature is its power reserve which lasts for 50 hours. Among its finishing, one trait in peculiar is especially notable. It is its oscillating weight that features the cotes de Geneve motif.

The new racing watch by Zenith includes a blue calfskin leather strap with protective rubber lining on the underside. The wristlet features the continuation of the striped motif which is seen on the face of the watch. It fastens with a triple folding clasp made of stainless steel.
