To commemorate its first quarter of a century in the world of watchmaking, Victorinox Swiss Army is launching a special restricted series watch named Dive Master 500 25th Anniversary Edition. It is a diving timekeeper with an incorporated helium valve and the overall construction that can withstand extreme water pressures, all the way to the depths of 500 meters. Because of its durable housing made of sandblasted titanium (which is the reason why the brand markets the piece as a “Swiss Army knife of watches”), the piece is able to handle such pressures despite having a transparent case back. The Victorinox commemorative watch runs on an ETA-produced chrono self-winding movement and is also distinguished with impressive legibility in dark which was achieved with the inclusion of ridiculous amounts of luminescent coating. As the watchmaker revealed, the celebratory 500-copies limited edition will hit the stores in summer and will cost $3,300.

Victorinox Dive Master 500 Anniversary Edition Watch
As it is widely known, Vicotrinox Swiss Army started off as a manufacturer of Swiss Army knives which demanded expertise in the machining of metal, most notably stainless steel which actually stands for the ‘inox” part of its name (French term for stainless steel is “inox” or “acier inoxidable”). However, the manufacturer’s know-how is naturally not limited solely to this material as it is displayed with the new watch which is made of titanium (this is also the case with other watches from the Dive Master 500 lineage). In particular, the 25th Anniversary Edition timepiece is made from grade 2 titanium which received a sandblasted treatment that gave it a striking matte gray shade. The same material and procedure were used for its bezel, three-row bracelet with a folding buckle, as well as for its screwed crown and pushers. By the way, the ratcheted bezel is adjusted for the needs of divers and therefore can be rotated only to one side, while it likewise includes a 20-minute diver’s scale.

As for the size of the titanium body of Victorinox Dive Master 500 25th Anniversary Edition watch, it has the restrained diameter of 43 mm. One of the major components of its extreme construction is certainly a helium valve which can be seen on the case band at the nine o’clock position. It should also be said that the watch can pride itself with a sapphire crystal with triple antireflective coating.

Victorinox Dive Master 500 Anniversary Edition Watch Case
The dial of the watch features vertical stripes as its embellishment and it is made in the same gray shade as the case and the bracelet and looks very nice in the combination with bright green luminous details which are not restricted to the dial, but also used for the 20 minute scale on the bezel. When you flip the watch over, you can observe the functioning of its beating heart – ETA self-winding 2894-2 chrono movement which is the caliber that the manufacturer often uses in its products. Apart from the chronograph complication, this movement also provides a date display which is executed via an aperture that is positioned between four and five o’clock positions.
Victorinox Dive Master 500 25th Anniversary Edition timekeeper will be launched in a restricted series of 500 pieces. These models will be available for sale sometime during the summer of 2014 at the price of $3,300.
