In order to celebrate the opening of its new butique in Paris, at 2 Rue de La Paix, Vacheron Constantin created four limited editions of Patrimony Traditionnelle watches, each of which presents an exquisite hand-guillloché dial, with a special pattern that emphasizes the importance of the line. From a stunning Calibre 2755 Grand Complication timepiece, and a vintage chronograph model, to a stylish Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds watch and a luxurious small model, Vacheron Constantin demonstrates its expertise in every single aspect of the Haute Horology.
The engraving on the case-back of the Patrimony Traditionnelle Calibre 2755 Grand Complication watch ( “N° 1/1″ ) tells enough about the value of this one of-a-kind piece. The Patrimony Traditionnelle Chronograph comes in the ultra-limited series of 10 pieces, while the Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds and the Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Model Diamond-Set watch are limited to 75 pieces each. Common features for all four models are their 18 karat 5N pink gold cases with diamond polished finishes, choice of chestnut-colored or black Mississippiensis alligator straps, hand-guilloché opaline silver-toned dials, transparent sapphire crystal case-backs and finally, impeccable hand-winding mechanisms. All together meets the new standards of the Poinçon de Genève (Hallmark of Geneva) which now refers to a completed timepiece and not only to the quality of a mechanism.
Patrimony Traditionnelle Calibre 2755 Grand Complication “Paris Boutique” Watch
This groundbreaking model comes with a robust, 44 mm case, which is an unusual size for a classical timepiece, nevertheless so convenient for the masterpiece that displays three major haute horological complications – a minute repeater, a tourbillon and a perpetual calendar. Thus, although pretty large and highly readable, three perpetual calendar sub-dials leave enough space for the tourbillon cage to be magnificently exhibited at the 6 o’clock position, forming the brand’s emblem – Maltese Cross. You can also notice a nice aesthetic effect produced by off-centred hands, as well as a vintage, railway style minute track, marked by applied pink gold hour markers.
Entirely developed and crafted by Vacheron Constantin, Calibre 2755 hand-windling mechanism is completely revealed on the back-side. Among 602 components of which this technological masterpiece is built, there is the innovative minute repeater with an original centripetal flying strike governor. By controlling the speed of striking hammers, it eliminates the background noise that lever-based systems generally produce. Chamfered bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève and the circular graining of the mainplate showcase the expertise of the brand’s craftsmen. A power-reserve indicator is placed on the bridge of the movement, showing the “2, rue de la Paix” engraving.
Patrimony Traditionnelle Chronograph “Paris Boutique” Watch
The second by its rarity among the brand’s novelties is this alluring model that brings back the distinctive elegance of vintage chronograph watches. Once again, Vacheron Constantin chose modern dimensions to emphasize the beauty of the manually decorated dial and to make it highly readable. At the outer rim, there is a vintage style tachymeter scale. For that purpose, there is a prominent minute scale, as well as highly legible, applied 18 karat gold hour markers and dauphine-shaped hands. The hand on the 30-minute counter and the central chronograph hand are marked in black color, while the small-seconds sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position features a tiny golden hand.
The watch is powered by the brand’s famous Calibre 1141 hand-winding chronograph mechanism with a column wheel. Ten lucky owners of these exquisite pieces will have a chance to enjoy its perfect beat, as well as its beautiful decorations, through a sapphire crystal case-back.
It is circular-grained and adorned with Côtes de Genève motif, with components that features hand-drawn flanks with having a file in parallel lines, with chamfered and polished steel parts and individually polished screw heads.
Patrimony Traditionnelle “Paris Boutique” Small Seconds Watch
Following the brand’s centuries-long watchmaking tradition and aesthetic codes of the Patrimony Collection, this stylish timepiece found the perfect way to present the art of simplicity through its pure lines and harmoniously balanced proportions. Its 18 karat pink gold case has the diameter of 38 mm, which along with the thickness of just 7.77 mm seems like the ideal size for the classic elegant timepiece. Brilliantly polished surface of its slender bezel highlights the beauty of the unique guilloché pattern, specially executed to mark the opening of the exclusive boutique at 2 Rue de La Paix.
The small-seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position matches the minute track at the outer rim, while applied markers, hands and the small Maltese Cross stand in harmony with the case and its prominent lugs.
Inside the case, there is an in-house Calibre 4400 AS. This stunning hand-winding mechanism oscillates at the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 65-hour of power-reserve. Its flat surfaces are decorated with Côtes de Genève, while its bridges features chamfered and then hand-polished surfaces. The case-back is engraved with the inscriptions of the boutique address, as well as the individual number of each watch (“N° X/75″).
Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Model Diamond-Set Watch
Vacheron Constantin thought about ladies too. The company created this marvelous blend of classic elegance and luxury. The alluring pattern of its dial is emphasized by the 88 round-cut diamonds that adorn the bezel and hour-markers. With its petit, 30 mm case, this timepiece looks like a delicate jewel at a lady’s wrist.
Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Model Diamond-Set watch is powered by a Manufacture Calibre 1400 hand-winding mechanism. Decorated in the manner that satisfies the highest standards of the Fine Watchmaking, this high-end movement is completely revealed through a sapphire crystal case-back.
