To mark the fourth year as an official sponsor of the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show, Ulysse Nardin launched a new Monaco Limited Edition timepiece. Like the previous models, this year’s Monaco Diver is limited to 100 individually numbered pieces and each of them comes with engraved 18-karats gold side plate.
The watch is housed in a specially treated stainless-steel case that have undergone a complex vulcanization process. This sophisticated vulcanisation process gives it a blue rubber coating with a notable appearance and a truly comfortable feel.
Its large-sized case measures 45.8 mm in diameter and incorporates a unidirectional rotating bezel and a screwed crown. The case is protected with a sapphire crystal that has been treated with an anti-reflective coating. The water resistance of the case is assured down to 200 meters (approximately 660 feet).
Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition Watch is equipped with the Caliber UN-26 automatic movement that is based od the time-proven ETA 2892 ebauche. The self-winding movement provides no less than 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound and oscillates at the rapid frequency of 28,800 beats per hour. The 28 jewels mechanism boasts personalized blue oscillating weight and is considered to be more reliable than an average caliber of this series, thanks to higher quality control.
Finaly, the movement is visible through the exhibition case-back, but not entirely, since the antireflective sapphire crystal is encrusted with the familiar logo of the Principality of Monaco.
This year’s model also has a nautical-inspired wave pattern motif on its dial. The same wave pattern adorns the structured rubber strap. The dial comprises two sub-dials. A power reserve indicator is located at the 12 o’clock position, while a small-seconds counter is placed on the opposite side, at the 6 o’clock position. There is also an oversized date display.
The hour markers and hour and minute hands are covered with blue luminescent material for best visibility under low lights conditions. Also, the hour and minute hands are partly skeletonized to ensure the uninterrupted reading of time.
The new Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition comes with a comfortable blue rubber strap with two black ceramic elements and an exclusive black ceramic folding clasp.
This year’s novelty is ideally suited for those passionate about yachting and it looks like the best candidate for a nice trip on a newly bought vessel. For over 166 years, Ulysse Nardin has been expertly steering captains and their crews with impeccable accuracy by the way of its most reliable marine chronometers in existence.
