Last month, Ulysse Nardin unveiled the new Jazz Minute Repeater which is produced in a limited quantity of only 18 pieces in platinum. A brand new complication watch unites traditional watchmaking with the fine art of hand-engraved Jaquemarts.
This newcomer is inspired by the iconic music genre which is brought to life by African Americans in the late nineteenth and the early twentieth century in the Southern United States. Ulysse Nardin Jazz Minute Repeater boasts an artist applied 18-karat gold “musicians” figurines on a genuine black onyx dial which depict the performance of a music band on stage. These ingenious action figures create a highly aesthetic attainments and represents a symbol of excellence and original interpretation of the perfection and harmony.
When the minute repeater lever is activated, the hours, minutes and quarters, or a combination of all of them together, chime, and the band begin their show by playing along with the timekeeping function. The workmanship of the Jaquemarts is very rare art which requires an exceptional talent of artisans and know-how.
The exceptional limited edition timepiece is housed in an elegant round case which measures 42mm in diameter. The highly precious platinum case houses the in-house manufactured caliber UN-74 manual winding movement which provides no less than 36 hours of power reserve when fully charged.
The Swiss luxury watchmaker shielded the case of the Jazz Minute Repeater timepiece on both sides with anti-reflective sapphire crystals. Furthermore, the watch features a sapphire crystal case back fixed with screws. The crystal window allows you to enjoy the movement’s inner beauty.
