Tudor has presented its latest model which was made as a part of its collaboration with the renowned motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. The latest timepiece from the collaborative series is inspired specifically by Ducati’s beautiful cruiser model XDiavel whose color scheme it replicates. Likewise, it captures its streamlined appearance in the contours of its matte black body made of high-tech ceramics. The all black piece is a chronograph watch which runs on Tudor 7753 automatic movement and has the price of $4.925.
Tudor’s connection with the renowned Italian motorbike company is now in its fourth year. During this time, Rolex’s “baby brother” has been launching special Fastrider models which are dedicated to the bike production company. Each of them was made with the same basic traits, namely the ones that are secured with the addition of Tudor 7753 self-winding caliber (which is based on ETA Vajoux 7750 base movement, but has a different outlay of its chrono sub-counters).
The same beating heart was used in the initial steel models from the series, the first ceramic ones with the Black Shield designation that were released two years ago, as well as in the freshly unveiled one with the reference 42000CN. In a way, the latest model represents just a cosmetic change, since it is made with the different colored dial accents (in white shade).
However, it is still immensely appealing watch whose creation was made with great attention to detail and which recommends it to people who are watch aficionados, as well as fans of Ducati bikes.
One of the biggest strong points of Tudor Fastrider Black Shield is the mentioned ceramic case. Made out of a single block of the material, the matte black housing is virtually scratch-proof. For the additional aesthetic appeal, the 42 mm wide case is treated with beat-blasted finish. Its stationary black bezel with an engraved tachymetric scale is likewise made of ceramic. The watch possesses a solid case-back and it is coupled with a sapphire crystal, as well as with a crown and chrono push-pieces made of blackened PVD steel. Its construction allows water resistance to 150 meters.
The all-black piece naturally features a dial in the same color as the housing. Apart from three sub-counters, it has a date display aperture which sits between four and five o’clock positions as its only other indication. The date can be instantaneously adjusted with a pusher which is located on the left side of its round case.
When its Tudor 7753 with 27 jewels caliber is concerned, it should be said that it beats at the frequency of 28,800 vph, that it is 30.4 mm wide and 7.9 mm thick, as well as that it includes a power storage that lasts for around 46 hours.
Finally, let us discuss the available attachment options. Tudor Fastrider Black Shield 42000CN can be complemented with a leather strap or a rubber band, both of them in black color. The only difference when it comes to their appearance is the fact that the leather one comes with the contrasting white stitching. The choice of the wristlet does not influence the price which is exactly $4,925.
