Tissot added the largest sporting event in Asia and one of the world’s largest sporting events to its portfolio of partnerships by becoming the official timekeeping partner of the 17th Asian Games, aka the XVII Asiad. To celebrate the event, the famous Swiss watchmaker launched nine different limited edition commemorative models. My favorite in this special collection is T-Touch II Asian Games 2014 Limited Edition Watch.
This novelty, like all models tooled with the latest generation of the brand’s Touch Technology, boasts some great high-tech equipment. The T-Touch II Asian Games combines contemporary design with excellent performance and it is mainly designed for athletes, modern adventurers and confident men.
The watch features functions, such as chronograph, countdown timer, compass, thermometer, dual time zones, two alarms, backlight and a perpetual calendar.
T-Touch II Asian Games 2014 (ref. T047.420.47.207.02) is housed in a titanum case which measures 42.7mm in diameter and 14.6mm in thickness. The sporty case incorporates a rotating bezel and it is shielded on front side with a tactile scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, coated with an antireflective material. The case construction provides water resistance of up to 100 meters (about 330 feet).
The new Tissot T-Touch II is distinguished by its red rubber strap, fitted with folding claps with push down buttons. The eye-catching color is taken up by details about the index Superluminova dial on the touch of carbon fiber, which gives the timepiece a sporty look.
The beating heart of the watch is a Swiss made quartz E48.311 movement, with a battery end of life indicator (EOL).
Like all commemorative timepieces which celebrate the Asiad, the T-Touch II features a case back engraved with the XVII Asian Games Incheon 2014 logo and comes in a specially designed exclusive packaging with a limited edition certificate. The watch is issued in the limited series of 2,014 exemplars.
This newcomer is the most expensive one in the Tissot 17th Asian Games Incheon collection of watches. It comes with the retail price of $1,100.
The 17th Asian Games will take place in the South Korean city of Incheon, from September 19 till October 4, 2014. The event comprises a range of sporting events from traditional sports, such as swimming and gymnastics, to martial arts, such as karate and taekwondo. The Asiad includes competitors from all over Asia and it is very popular across the continent.
