The Le Locle-based matchmaking company, Tissot, launches a new limited edition timepiece dedicated to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Spain 2014 which will be held from 30 August to 14 September. During the upcoming tournament, Tissot will be providing fairness to the teams that have already proven themselves in the FIBA Continental Championships. The Swiss manufacturer has been Official Timekeeper of FIBA since 2008.
The new Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 is produced in a limited quantity of only 2014 pieces, each of them with the FIBA Basketball World Cup logo engraved on the case back. This sporty watch combines black and orange colors. The love of the basketball is illustrated by a bright orange aluminum ring which recalls the wearers of the basketballs that rule the courts. Orange color is also used for other details, such as indices in the counters and stitching on the leather strap, thus adding to its sporty and modern look. The dial features a special black-on-black finish.
This newcomer is housed in a round, stainless steel case which measures 42mm in diameter and 10.72mm in thickness. The sporty case is shielded with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and it is capable to resist water pressure of up to 100 meters (330 feet). The new Tissot is powered with the Swiss-made G10.211 quartz movement which provides a high level of precision and reliability.
Tissot President Mr. François Thiébaud noted: “Being associated with such an international sport as basketball underlines our dynamic nature and our values of precision and performance. In turn, we will keep rising to the challenge of ensuring that success and victory at that level are firmly rooted in precision and fairness. Offering exclusive timekeeping services and unique designed watches also gives our passionate customers an additional reason to be proud of their commitment to Tissot.”
The Secretary General of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member, Patrick Baumann, also expressed his gratitude about cooperation with Tissot: “We are extremely thankful to Tissot for creating a limited edition watch to commemorate the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.” FIBA Secretary General added: “Those lucky enough to get their hands on a Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 should make sure to cherish this unique souvenir and specially made time piece long after the first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup is over. It is through this type of initiative that our relationship with Tissot – a FIBA Global Partner since 2008 – has improved year after year and delivered great benefits.”
