Tikker Watch to Count Down Your Life Time

This is one of those cool products which immediately get you thanks to their original concepts. Developed by Swedish inventor Fredrik Colting, a Tikker watch changes the perspective of time. Instead of displaying it just on the conventional manner, the Tikker makes it personal, by counting down a wearer’s life time. As it has been announced, this watch is able to calculate the moment of the wearer’s death and according to it, to display how long he or she is going to live. Of course, it is completely clear that this is more about an interesting idea of using every second of your life wisely, making it meaningful, than some scientific breakthrough.

This pretty cool digital timepiece deserved all the support on the Kickstarter where this project multiply surpassed the goal of collecting $25,000. Although some use to call it a ‘dead watch’, Mr. Colting stresses a completely opposite point of view, from which it should increase your happiness instead of making you depressed. It reminds us to make the most of our lives, to cherish our time and to make right choices, following our hearts. At the end, it is not how long we live, but how we live.

In order to set up the Tikker to start counting down your life, you just need to fill out a questionnaire about your medical history, including questions about body structure, history of possible genetic disease in the family and about your daily routines. After you submit your answers, the watch will display the ‘exact’ number of years, months, days, hours, minutes and even seconds that left until your death. Along with a timepiece which will cost only $59 when it appears on the market, its creators will also present the book About Time which explains both the concept of time, and also the process of calculating your own life time.

The design of the Tikker watch is simple, in the manner of most fitness and smart watches. Although it shows nothing more than real time and ‘your time’ via its three-row digital display, if it helps someone to live a life more fully, the Tikker will deserve its place among the smartest smart watches.
