In cooperation with the movie star, Daniel Craig, the famous Swiss watchmaking is supporting ORBIS International and its Flying Eye Hospital in the fight against preventable blindness around the world. In order to promote the remarkable commitment of the ORBIS’s medical team, Omega has co-produced a film Through Their Eyes which follows Daniel Craig during his visit to Flying Eye Hospital in Mongolia.

ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital
The interesting half hour movie documents Craig’s first hand experience with the ORBIS’s volunteers and patients whose lives have been changed, thanks to this unique organization. While showcasing the beauty of this diverse country, imbued with high contrasts, the film points out breathtaking stories about eye operations performed aboard the FlyingEyeHospital, on the runway of the airport at the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator. Capturing joy and gratitude of patients and their families, Through Their Eyes perfectly shows the importance of the work that the ORBIS team has been doing since 1982.
In its battle against preventable blindness, ORBIS has collaborated with its partners in 89 countries, providing hands-on medical training, tools and technology. As the result of its programs, more than 15 million individuals have been treated and more than 250,000 eye care professionals have gotten the knowledge to provide further help in their communities.

In order to benefit this unique organization, Omega has created a special version of its stylish model from the De Ville Collection – the Hour Vision Blue watch (presented at the Baselworld 2011), making a commitment that at least one million U.S. dollars from its sale will help the fight against preventable blindness. Furthermore, the Swiss watchmaker has engaged one of its leading ambassadors, Daniel Craig, to promote the watch, as well as the brand’s partnership with ORBIS.
