A French fashion giant Louis Vuitton is marking the decade of its involvement in the world of watches with the launch of two limited editions of stylish Tambour Forever timepieces. The new anniversary watches, as expected, feature very refine and lavish design. Both limited editions (in white and in black color) are placed inside a tough ceramic case, while their faces flaunt the famous Louis Vuitton’s monogram flower motif. Unsurprisingly, the pattern on the face of the watch is achieved through the groupings of diamonds which grace not only the dial, but also completely cover the lugs. The release of two anniversary models is announced for this October.
Although best known as a manufacturer of high-end fashion accessories, especially purses, Louis Vuitton has been producing and selling timepieces for a whole decade. Ever since the release of the first Tambour model in 2002, the brand stated the intention to create imposing pieces that will combine high aesthetic standards with horological quality. The first model featured a distinct deep drum shaped case having sloping sides with bulges. The shape was noted in the industry and dubbed as the Vuitton case. Throughout ten years of timekeepers production, the brand utilized these original shaped cases and fitted them with various types of movements, spanning from highly complicated mechanical calibers to simple quartz modules, such as those featured on the anniversary watches. The level of expertise can be seen through the fact that the brand already constructed movements with extraordinary complications, such as a tourbillon or a minute repeater.
Black and White Anniversary Timekeepers
The success of the watchmaker in the decade of its existence is appropriately marked with two new limited collections of Tambour Forever watches whose release was announced shortly after yet another novelty in the range of the brand’s products, the Bijou Forever collection. The distinction of the commemorative watches is the material used for their housing. These cases are made from highly resistant and scratch free ceramic whose quality can be best demonstrated through the fact that it is five times more durable than steel.
As it has been said, two limited edition watches for women are made with either luminous black or harmonic white dial. In the center of the dial stands the brand’s monogram flower motif made from clusters of diamonds which also serve as hour markers. Each of the models has a leather strap in the color that matches the dial, and bears the same flower-shaped decorations. The timekeeper only includes hour and minute hands, and possesses a quartz movement. As the representatives of the company announce, the black version will be constructed in 250 pieces, while the white limited edition will be a bit more exclusive and will consist of 50 less pieces. The timekeepers will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in October.
